Next year it looks like I'll be going back to my same school (love it there, but its FAR), I have the option of going to K (I've taught Pre-K in the past) or going to 3rd (my all time fave grade).
However, the perks of K are I'd have an assistant so if I'm late getting in, its no big deal; its a lighter work load b/c Principal is not as on top of the Pre-K, K teachers as the rest of the school and if I need to leave early for baby or go to dr. Principal wouldn't care as much b/c I'd have an asst. in room, whereas w/ 3rd they have to call sub or make due w/ our librarian, etc.
Personally I love 3rd, although the 2nd grade is a tough class coming up but everyone is telling me K would be a better bet for next year w/ new baby coming the beginning of the summer.
Thoughts?
Also if there's any K teachers, I have some q's for you...
Thx.

Re: Any K teachers out Here? Also dilemma...help!
I'm a K teacher....
If you taught pre-K, then you know.. you're on your feet a lot, you are bending down and running around a lot. I find my job physically exhausting. Then, not to mention having to disinfect everything in the classroom every 5 minutes because you certainly want to stay away from those germs that are always lurking around with the little ones...so those are some things to consider if you're going to be having a baby=)
But if you have an assistant, that is amazing!!! ( I'm jealous, I don't have one!!) She can do a lot of the running around for you!!
