Any Kleinfeld brides out there?? Need help!
Hi Ladies,Wondering if anyone out there also got their gown at Kleinfeld, and can answer a question for me.
I ordered a strapless gown, and while I fell madly in love with it, I am very nervous that I will be disappointed with my appearance in it come fitting time (which is still a few months away). Here's my question...did Kleinfelds tell you that no changes can be made to the gown, with the exception of standard alterations? Meaning, if I wanted to add a sheer sleeve to my gown (which is very possible because they gown I ordered actually comes in a similar style with a sleeve) would Kleinfeld do it?
I know I am being totally paranoid here, but I am really nervous that I am going to hate being strapless at my wedding.
Thanks for any input you can offer!
By the way...here's my gown:

That's a beautiful gown...is it eve of milady??I didn't get my gown at Kleinfelds but I do know that the seamstress will do whatever you want to your dress (within reason) for a price.
So, if you want sleaves put on, I'm sure they'll do it for you. It won't be included in your maximum alterations price though...
But, I have a strapless and I was happy with it when I bought it and I'm happy with it now that the alterations are done.
You'll love it, trust me!

Thank you! Yes, it's Eve of Milady.I think part of my paranoia stems from a friend telling me how heavy her gown was and her back was killing her because she had nothing uptop helping her keep it up. I think that may have had more to do with the satin, and the fact that there was no corset or reinforcement in the waist. This gown is organza on the bottom, and I think the seamstresses at Kleinfeld will reinforce the waist if i need it.
You'd think for the 400 standard alteration fee they'd throw in anything you want on it!

Hi Misty,I ordered my dress from Kleinfelds and at the time when I ordered it I made a major change to the bottom of the dress and that was an additional cost through the designer. I don't see why they wouldn't honor your needs if you want to add or change something to the dress. I would call the sales consultant that helped you there and ask her.

I have a stapeless eve of milady very similar to yours. My skirt isn't as full on the bottom though.
Honestly, I've had it on for my alterations and it didn't appear heavy...I do have a corset and I have a detachable train - not sure if that has anything to do with it.
I don't think any of us are used to wearing such large ball gowns so either way it's not going to be the most comfortable outfit!!
You'll love it...trust me. My Eve gown was perfect - you definitely get what you pay for!

That's the thing that worries me really. I was told when I ordered it also that any changes to the structure of the dress had to be made through the designer, not Kleinfeld's. And I made no changes. I think I will call up and ask!Thank you!!
Just as a background...this is a picture of what my dress looks like with sleeves. It's almost exactly the same on top (the beading actually looks like this on my dress, but the photo of my gown emphasized the beading and made it a bit darker than it actually is). I'd want a similar sleeve added, but plain instead of the beads on the sleeve. It really wouldn't be a big deal!

Hey Mrs2Be,I have a detachable train also on this gown. Actually my friends gown didn't, and it had a bad bustle that kept falling also...that could definately have added to the weight of the gown. I think I'll feel better when I go try it on again when I go for my headpiece!
Thank you all for your help. If anyone else has advice...please post!!
