We didn't have a 'military' wedding either. My husband wore a tux. His blue uniform would've messed up my color scheme

Yeah Don't think it would go with the wedding theme so he wants to go with a tux...for engagement pics we're probably going the uniform route

FH is a Marine. He will be wearing his mess dress fro our church ceremony and then changing into a tux. So the groom will have an outfit change instead of the bride.
We will be having a sword arch and cutting our cake with his sword. Those are the only military elements we are having. After all the military weddings we have attended, I'm so looking forward to these small aspects for mine.

the marine uniform is very nice...when I went to the marine ball with FH (he gets to go to them since he's their medic) I remember thinking how dressy and regal they look, and he's got these sailor blues on lol
I like the sword arch/ cake cutting you're doing.....it's the small little details that mean the most :)

We are both military but not going to incorporate into the ceremony. If we do it will be in a cute way...maybe a cake topper?

FH is in the army. The only military element that we're having is that FH is going to wear his dress uniform for the ceremony and then change into his tux for the reception. Also, I found this really cute army-theme garter that I plan on wearing and I want to do a groom's cake for him reflecting his service (he doesn't know about these two though)

seems to definitely be a few of us!! FH is actually currently deployed to Afghanistan, but is coming home Juneish :)

THAT IS EXACTLY WHY I PICKED IT TOO!!!!! lol
FH's station is Camp Lejuene, NC. so sat the guys could drive up, and then sunday is the wedding, then monday/tuesday they can do whatever and go home.
I was told open bar was good motivator for the guys to drive up haha
and plus, it's fleet week so military guys totally have a ball with that in the city, too.
definitely all good motivators for his buddies...lol

hey ladies, I just stumbled on something, apparently in the past, Bridal Reflections has down some special shopping days for military/ military fiancees...
