I remember a few of you posted - FH's daughter will be 16 in January - FH and I were talking about it and wanted info from you ladies - please tell me it's nothing like planning a wedding!!!

I actually heard that they can do it at the aquarium in Riverhead. I thought that was cool! Just an idea.

We are. She will be 16 in June but we arent having her party until Sept. or Oct. We are going to look at La Piazza, we had her confirmation party at Knights of Columbus in Oceanside and it was great and not expensive(right up my alley, lol) we might be going back there. A friend of hers is having her's at the end of April on the Nautical Princess out of Freeport.

I just went to my cousin's daughter's Sweet 16 friday night at this place called The Memorare Club in Seaford....It was very nice.....She had a Las Vegas themed party....It was cool.....They gave out prizes at the end.....HTH!!! FM me if you'd like more info.....

It doesn't have to be! Mine was at a smallish hotel, we had a Dj and a simple buffet dinner (the girls don't eat, btw). No seating cards. Hung balloons from the ceiling, they gave us mirror/candles on the tables. Invitations were done on the computer. We had a really fun time and kept it simple. Did our own video.
Thought I was hot stuff b/c they let me decide how dim the lights would be!

Were actually planning our daughters First Holy Communion Next May... We'll be doing this after August Of This Year When She Starts 2nd Grade Caterchism......

My mother and I are planning my sisters Sweet 16 for the end of July. She is having it at a VFW. So far we have the DJ, food and hall. She also has a 'theme' (Broadway shows) Hers is nothing like a wedding although she went to one a few weeks ago that was at the Sand Castle and she said it was over the top. My mom had to set a limit on my sister, she has a tendency to go overboard on a LOT of things.

My Fh's little sister turned 16 this past Oct. It was like a mini wedding... They had it in a hall. It was very nice. They live in Queens. It was at Dante's.

The Knights of Columbus we used is like a mini hall it's not your typical Knights of Columbus that's very dreary. They've actually held weddings in the room upstairs and they are beautiful from what I've been told. We had the downstairs room which was set up like a little club it was great she really enjoyed herself. Good Luck and happy hunting.

La Piazzza is wonderful and the food is delicious.. I eat there all the time and went to HS with the owner.. They are reasonable as well
