Another Montauk bride here.
There are tons of hotels along the beach on Old Montauk Highway. Just check them out and get quotes.

Hi, I'm a gurney's bride too! I haven't been able to post much lately, but its nice to see there are fellow Montauk ladies.

I have my guest staying at the Montauk Manor or the Shephards Beach Motel...both have been good to us to this point.

The montauk manor is very nice, but very $$$ as well. A few of my guests are staying at the Panoramic (walking distance to gurneys), atlantic terrace and royal atlantic.

I'm personall not too worried about September traffic, all of my guests are from oot and they are coming out early on Saturday, checking into their hotels & then coming to gurneys.

I got a rate of $150 for the Montauk Manor, not too bad.

I think you should definitely do friday night over the sunday afternoon if you can. And i wouldn't worry about traffic either because wont' you be having your rehearsal dinner out here anyway? So most people will have to come on thursday... which has less traffic. As long as you forwarn everyone about the traffic... it shouldn't be a problem.

I'm having a late friday night reception. I have told my oot guests about possible traffic but I'm not really worried about because most of them will be coming Thursday night.

i'm so excited to finally be 'meeting' other Gurney's Brides!

As for the traffic I'm just warning all guests well ahead of time so they can make travel arrangements accordingly. I'm doing STD's almost a year before the wedding so everyone can make travel & accomdation plans well in advance. We're doing the bonfire party on Friday night before the wedding as a welcome party for all the guests coming in for the whole weekend too.

Anyone else doing the bonfire thing? It looks so cool & I'm hoping it'll be more fun than the traditional RD!

So I've heard good things about Strawberry Fields for flowers... anyone else book vendors yet? I'm just starting & totally open to more recs! TIA!

Wow, I didn't realize they hike up the rates for Columbus Day weekend.

I love Starrberry Fields as well.
But I'm actually using Dutch Petals in Southampton because they are a whole seller. They have the freshest flowers at very competitive prices. 631-287-3356.

Wow, your Gurney's rate is much better than mine, i think mine is $350!!
I think they still consider Sept peak season. I never expected my guest to stay there, but there are at least a dozen staying there.
