yeah- its still a little pricey in Sept! I'm still a year away from the big day, but I've been really surprised by how many people have mentioned wanting to spend the $ and stay at Gurneys. I think alot of our guests are using the wedding as a happy excuse to vacation in Montauk. I've heard quite a few friends saying that they've always wanted to stay at Gurney's & now they have a good reasonto splurge!

Funny my guest said the exact same thing.
Then i decided to join in, I booked myself a suite on the ocean for Friday & Saturday nite! I'm treating myself to the spa all day on Friday...i can't wait!

that is so fun! i've heard great things about the spa services, but i've never used it myself!
fi & i will be staying all weekend too
are you having the spa do your hair/nails/makeup for the wedding or are you bringing in someone else? seems like the easiest would be to use the spa, but the prices are pretty steep!

I've only read great reviews on the spa , and yes it is a bit $$$, but what the heck at this point, the budget is long gone. So i'm having my nails done the day before, with and additional treatment & I'm treating my sister (MOH) to the same. The day of my MOH, stepmom, FMIL and myself are getting their hair done there. I'm doing my makeup myself.

FYI-i booked all my appointments 6 months out and it sounded like they were booking up fast.

Where's aqua east? do you mean pacific east?

I'm having mine at Saracen in Wainscott. Unfortunately my RD has turned into like a little wedding (54 people)

As for gurneys... i'm not getting anything done there. I'm getting my hair and makeup done at the salon in amagansett in the square. However, on the day of, my mother, FMIL, FH's aunt and cousin are getting their hair and makeup done there. I also booked their appointments about 4 months ago. Oh but i am definitely treating myself to a massage before the wedding!!!!

For flowers, I'm using Flowers by Beth in Amagansett.http://www.flowersbybeth.com/index.ihtml

I was a Sagaponack bride & used Beth! She is such a sweetheart! Down to earth, easy to deal with, and she did a WONDERFUL job!

I've never been there but read good reviews about it. Been meaning to go next time I'm out there. It's near St. Theresa's church, down by the beach where they put up some new buildings with stores.

OK I'll join in, I'm a Montauk bride too

I reccomended the Harborside Hotel to my guests. I don't know what their rooms look like, but their prices are great (under $150 with no minimum). I just heard today that the people there are so nice to deal with over the phone. The only thing was that they wouldn't block rooms for me, but people are still booking rooms without a problem.

There is a new barber place next to Johns Pancake House on main street. Otherwise, everyone i know goes to the barber shop in Amagansett to Nick and Vinny.

So has everyone booked their photographers yet?
there are so many to choose from!
i honestly haven't heard of anyone from the gurney's list, which makes me nervous!

Re: Any Montauk Brides?

Pictures are very important to me. So I did lots of research. Initially the photographer I wanted was booked for our date and I was devastated.
But then I found Gary Leli. His work is really great and he's very professional. Leli
Good luck!
