Re: any NJ brides??? i am torn
do you feel a connection with either location? (for example, I grew up in woodbury and it was such an amazing experience to plan my entire wedding in the town that I grew up in...it kind of just worked out that way when we chose the Woodlands but nonetheless, it was so amazing!)
where are you having your ceremony?
where are the vendors you hope to use located? will your vendors travel?
where are the majority of your guests coming from?

Re: any NJ brides??? i am torn
no connection to either really as I am a city girl and one is queen and one in LI..
but all my vendors that i have been looking at are in LI ( i thought i was going to be a LI bride ) and joined this site and have an idea of the vendors i wanted to use..
russo's is closer but seasons is not far either my guests should be able to get to them with no problems..
I am in love with them both

Re: any NJ brides??? i am torn
FH and I just went to a wedding at Seasons for this past october!!!
Can I say that their cocktail hour is SICKKKKK!!! I have never seen that much food ever. FH says he will now forever compare all cocktail hours with that one.
I felt that the place was all about abundance. The viennese hour was nuts as well. I know that the bride was very, very happy with her experience there.
I would say pick the place that is most convenient for you and your family/guests to attend...That is if they are truly tied right now.
FH and I live in jersey and already there are some people who are complaining about driving and paying for hotel
ALso, I did make it a lot harder for myself shuttling back and forth during this whole planning process

I thought the service was really good. They were constantly on top of taking old plates away during cocktail hour, and always asking us if we needed anything to drink during dinner.
The ballroom was nice, FH noticed that it looked like uplighting was built into the ceiling lights? That's good, maybe it will save you some money if uplighting is included?
I don't know if the place is one wedding at a time, if it isn't I definitely didn't notice another party.
I was pretty full by the time the entrees came. To be honest, I don't remember what I ate. It was fish though. i think FH got steak but again, everyone was stuffed!!!
I didn't have much of dessert either but people were going to town. the cotton candy machine and ice cream cart were cute touches.
do you live in jersey?

I am not from NJ but alot of my family is.. are u? have u booked ur place? if so where?
yes the uplighting is in built in but we have to pay a lil extra for it the ballroom is amazing no carpet very modern and the back drop of the water fall I LOVE.. I am soo happy u told me all this I think u made my decision alot easier... they have a smaller ballroom upstairs but from what they told me they dont hold 2 parties at the same time.. and the linens are included in the price ( whatever color) we were contimplating about the VH if er should or not but i think just to have an extra hour of partying i might add it in..
thank u sooo much

Re: any NJ brides??? i am torn
I just looked at Season's last weekend. We met with Carl who was nice but my mother thought he was a little pushy. I absolutely loveddddddddddddd the grand ballroom at Season's (with the built in lighting). It was gorgeous!
My friend's friend had her wedding there and my friend raved about it. Cocktail Hour and Viennese Hour are out of this world. FH especially liked the game room next to the bridal suite.
The only thing I wasn't crazy about was that the lobby area is a little on the small side. When you walk in, you're basically in your cocktail room. I also didn't like how the cocktail room is spread across three different rooms.
We're actually having our wedding in NJ at the Estate at Florentine Gardens.
BTW - They do hold two parties at the same time but they don't start at the same time.

They'll have the two parties start at different times.
Ex.: One party will be going on that started at 5pm and the other party won't start until 7pm.
I'll FM you the quote. We only looked at Florentine and Season's in NJ. I wanted to look at Rockleigh, but FH's friend got married there and he's getting divorced so I decided to cross that one off the list b/c I didn't want him to feel uncomfortable.

Definitely go back during a quieter time. It's a huge arcade - FH loved it. lol
