any non flower center pieces?

any non flower center pieces?

Is anyone using non traditional center pieces? I am allergic to most flowers and candels aren't my thing. I might use silk flowers. But, I am wondering if anyone has any other ideas. It would be nice to have something a little different.

this won't help you if you're allergic to flowers (unless you did silk), but my catering hall suggested we not do centerpieces--just rose petals scattered all over the tables with lots of candles.

I'm using silk flowers- you could try to do confetti and depending on what you are giving out as favors and how you are packaging them you could make a 'cake' out of your favors- or something along those lines.

alot of people put the favors in the middle of the table, or pretty picture frames with pics of the couple in it, I think also the big towers of fruit are nice and it serves a dobule purpose.. Ive even heard of huge bread baskets with all different types of really pretty breads in it.

For my friend's winter wedding, we made ornaments as favors & put them in a basket as a CP.

I am shooting to $ave by cutting back on flowers. My mother is an artist and will be making tall centerpieces with beads (she got the idea from the chandelier in the room) and candles.

I'd post a pic, but don't have one

I am using the candlabras (pretty sure) that the place has to rent - very reasonably...
You can rent them too...
If you want someone, let me know I might be able to get it for you...

I also read in a bridal magazine about having cakes for each table...although come to think of it, by the time it was eaten, it may not be fresh, if you know what i mean...

Hi Cocoa
I saw some stuff in a magazine today
Thought of you - 3 candles with roses, hydrangea, and little berries in a more rectangular thing...
Very romantic - not too much $ I bet...
Did you like my bouquet - maybe not so many hangy bits...

What about dried flowers??
I have dried hydrangea before they are pretty - very soft colors...with candles

You should buy them and try and dry them - I bought them, put them in water and just let them sit there...the water will evaporate and the flowers just dry out - the colors get softer and look great - somewhere on this site - I saw a centerpiece with the those and 3 candles - with these things that looked like berries and a few roses...

A great centerpiece can be made by taking a vase and fillinh the bottom with glass beads, then fill it with water and put a fighting fish (or goldfish)of any color (to match ur wedding colors) inside the water. Then a plant or some greenery goes into the top of the vase. Its perfect b/c its so quick and easy to make yet really unique. if you want to see a pic or more details of this design I can post or email
