I got my dress at kleinfelds. I must have went to 10 other dress shops and I felt that kleinfelds was the best. I really felt like a bride there and I thought they had excellent service. Sylvia helped me and she was great. I cannot wait till my dress comes in! Even though it takes me an hour and a half to get there I would not go anywhere else.

Yeah, i wanted to cry there. Dont go during a truck show because they rush you right out. It was the first time i went to look at dresses, the lady picked out the dresses for me, didnt make me look throguh the racks and told me to make up your mind, because it didnt like what she brought out to me. Really farty dresses too, i just think she was trying to push off the ugly ones. And the dresses where all ivory color. I think it was actually a sample sale. i was only there 45 minutes. I timed. Then walked out with knots in my stomach and told my Mom i wanted to go because i wasn't feeling good. Maybe i wish i had a different girl or lady to help me. I'll never forget it. I think i remeber her name, if you want to know FM me.

AAAAHHHHH! I'm going this weekend for my first dressing finding adventure. It is the Anne Barge Trunk show. Does that mean I can only try on Anne Barge Dresses? Oh- goodness. I really don't want to have a bad experience for my first experience.

I bought my dress there which I actually have b/c I bought the sample of a couture gown which was half price than it would have been if I didn't purchase the sample. The first woman I worked with (Margaret) had no patience with me. I went with my sister and I told Margaret I wanted to look at sheaths and form fitting, lacy gowns. Then, after trying on a few of those and not liking them and not feeling like a bride, I (pursuant to my sister's suggestion) started trying on a-line gowns and then ball room gowns (I ended up with a ball room gown). Margaret kept saying, 'I thought you said you didn't want ball room gowns' over and over again, to the point where I just had to say to her 'listen, Margaret-I told you a dozen times now, I don't know what I want-not should I. I have never done this before, never tried on a wedding dress and I have the prerogative to change my mind.' Only after I gave her a piece of mind did she change her tune. I felt like I was interrupting the 6 cigarette breaks she took while helping me. I would, obviously not recommend Margaret. Before my next appt (with my mom) I specifically requested not having Margaret as my bridal attendant and they gave me Lea who is wonderful. I worked with her and Ronnie, the owner who is also a doll. I suggest making an appt with Lea. Overall, my experinece was a very positive one. You just need to let them know who is in charge (FYI-YOU!!!). Good luck!

Maybe I needed to have this attitude when I went. I just got more attention at the wedding salon of manhasset. The woman there made me feel more comfortable.

I bought my dress at a trunk there, and prior to the appt. they gave me the same story re: the one hour time limit ....I was there for 3 hours and tried on a million dresses (not just the trunk show designer) and finally bought my dress. You can't go wrong there- huge selection and great customer service! Good luck!!

Re: any one been to KLEINFELDS?????

My sis got her dress at Kleinfeld and I was with her every step of the way.

Yes, the CC thing os weird, but if you keep your appointment there's no charge and it's ok. I have to say that out of the many bridal slaons we visited the service at Kleinfeld was the best. My sister brought pics of gowns she liked and the person who helped her (Dianne or something) brought them all and ones with similar attributes. She was VERY knowledgable. She really gave her honest opinion and was VERY helpful.

ALso, and this is SO important, the seamstress was GREAT. They did an amazing job and really knewe what they were doing. My sister's gown (an eve of milady) was very ornately beaded and she wanted a modesty piece. They did an INCREDIBLE job making a modesty piece that matched the beading EXACTLY. I couldn't believe it!

Also, the place iss o clean and high class and it's just nice, you feel like a princess being there.

The downsides? WHen they saw us (we were dressed very casually) they sort of assumed we were looking for low end gowns...and..that's really about it. I didn't like that aspect of it, but becauseof their reputation and the quality of the gowns and the seamstresses and service I will definitely look there for my gown.

I got my gown there and the service was amazing. First of all they did not hold me to the 90min limit. I was there for over 3.5 hrs and yes, it ws a saturday afternoon at noon. The place was packed, but they certainly gave you the tme and attention you want. My salesgirl brought me out every dress i wanted to see. There was a manager there who was pushng one particular designer for me, but it just wasn't exactly what i wanted. I made her happy and tried, but wasn't thrilled. My salesgirl still kept brining me out the dresses i wanted, but i wound up with the first dress i tried on. I knew it was for me. They give you personal attention and so far i have nothing but good things to say. I hope it stays that way!!!!

I got my dress there and worked with a woman named Margaret and had the complete opposite experience that you had. (maybe they have two Margarets? the one I worked with didn't leave to smoke and didn't smell like smoke either). I had no idea what type of dress I wanted. She asked me all sorts of questions and brought me back dresses. The second dress I tried on was the one I ended up getting. It just was perfect, from the style to the types of beading...

My entire experience there was wonderful. I didn't feel rushed or pushed into anything. I really felt that they knew what they were talking about and were able to help me find the best dress for me and my body type and style.

I was measured by a woman named Elise who was also a doll. The must have given me, my mom and my BM at least five hugs and kisses on the cheeks before we left, wishing us good luck, etc. I couldn't imagine getting my dress from anyplace else.

Go there....see Lea Taylor (she's only there on Saturdays). She's not pushy. There is such a selection that the number of people who walk out of there w/o a gown is minimal.

Good luck!

Some people get real lucky i guess. I'm sure it does depend on the lady. My lady was a very annoyed, it was a small petite lady with blond hair and alot of makeup, in her 50's BTW. if you FM me i will be happy to let you know who it was before your appt.

I think I had the same one. My experience there was not bad, but it wasn't impressive. I've been to many boutique shops (that's actually where I ended buying my dress from) in CHicago and I've been to some run of the mill shops. The service at Kleinfields was in between to me. I don't believe I was offered a stapless bra, and no one helped me into the dress. Basically she gave me the dress, and went to look for more. Actually, she was gone for so long, that I started looking for myself. They didn't have too much of a selection of sheath/fitted dresses. But I have to admit that I did go there unknowingly on a trunk show day. Actually, I wanted to try on the dress that I saw someone try on my attendent did break her back to get it for me to try on (apparently there was quite a few people waiting to try on the dress), so I guess she wasn't too bad. She did get much nicer later after we started talking about her grad children. I ended up getting my dress in CHicago because the dress was $1000 less than at Kleinfields. She did try to lower the price, but it just wasn't enough.

I just went there today, actually, and...got my dress! Only my second time out shopping. I was afraid the salespeople would be too fussy/pushy/snotty but not at all. The saleswoman, Renee, was great -- she picked dresses within my price range, and even though I thought I wanted something plain, with no beading, she picked out the dress I bought and it it has a few scattered ones.

I figured I couldn't go wrong since they had such a large selection, and I was right!
