Tara, I am using one, you will definitley need one, it can be a good friend or a family memer this person is your go to person, the cellphone person, the person who takes care of vendors and any last minute thing that you don't need to worry about on your day. This person will have my vendor #'s make sure the church is open, the florist gets in etc etc. She is the person that will be the me on my big day. She will know all my details and who to contact in case of. HOpe that helps

Good luck

Don't you have a friend or family member that can do this for you? I am using a close friend, that was my suggestion.

Marnles, she is not in the BP but she will be wearing a dress in the same color scheme that the BP is wearing everyone will know she is the DOEC. She is just a friend that I asked to do it. A single friend would do best b/c if she is running around what will her date do all that time by himself

I am using Kelly from Kennedy Weddings for the day of. Her prices are pretty reasonable. Her email is [email protected]

If my FH and I decide to use a coordinator, we will use Kelly as well. I met with her and her prices are really reasonable since she's just starting out.

I just wanted to add that I didn't use a day of coordinator, and everything went fine the day of my wedding. I understand what they do, but I wonder why, like Shamma said, you couldn't have a close family member or bridal party person do it? I wasn't one for spending extra money, so this was one area I though I'd save on. And I can honestly say everything went fine - there was no shortage of details that day and it flowed smoothly.

Good Luck!!

If you go to www.weddingchannel.com, message boards, local, NY. You will find tons of info about Day Of Coordinators. I know the cost can be about $500+ for one, but many people feel it is totally worth every penny. I do not plan to use one since my hall event manager told me that she has NO problems making sure that the room is exactly the way I want it, and that all of my stuff is arranged properly. I am still considering it though. They call all of your vendors the week before, confirm everything, and take care of last minute errands for you.
Regardless of whether you pay someone or not, make sure you have a master list of all of your vendors, excepted times of arrivals, and what you brought to the hall. Ask a friend to help you in case of any difficulties.

I did the same thing shama is planning on and it worked out great. One of my cousins handled the responsibility.

The church was really the only place she had to do anything. I had her cordinate the decorations - pew bows, floral baskets, petal and bubble handouts, programs. She made sure my 4 flowergirls were lined up and that they had the toss items after the ceremony. That our other cousin (12 yr o) took care of handing out the programs. Made sure the groomsmen and my DH had their boutiners (sp?) and MIL had her flowers etc. She also made sure that everything that was supposed to come back home with us did. Overall I'm ver glad we assigned this task to her. There were just a lot of little details that needed attention.

Our reception site - Watermill - did a wonderful job with everything they were supposed to handle. We gave them a list with all the items we left with them; favors, cake topper, toasting glasses etc. and they had everything washed and back in the boxes ready for us to take home.
