Any one not doing a strapless ballgown????

When I went to try on dressess the ballgowns didnt feel like me. So I went with a bodyskiming sheath/mermaid. However, I am having regrets since I am thinking my wedding is the one time I could wear the cinderella dress and all of the ballgowns everyone on this site has picked out are so beautiful. If any one else is not doing the ballgown, I could use the support. I tried to paste a link and picture below. . . which looks like I am searching for compliments, but really just honesty.

jk I really do love my dress. . . its just such a big decision. Too bad you only get one dress.
second thoughts are the true problem with this whole wedding process and I they are making me doubt myself more than I ever have before because it all cumulates in one day!

Yes it does. I got it at Wedding Salon of Manhasset. Where did you try it on?

I tried it on at my bridal salon in PA that carries Vera Wang....it is a gorgeous dress...but I ended up going with something else. I felt like those diagonal lines across the stomach made me look fat

I do not have a ball gown. It is also not strapless. I went through a dramatic weightloss a few years back and wanted to show off my figure rather than hide it under pouf. I am also 35 years old and would feel ridiculous wearing something wider than I am tall. Here is my dress. Very different. Very me.

I felt like all the dresses made me look fat. Need I say more than WHITe and bright lights. but this one didnt. I felt like the side parts did a lot of camaflouge, but that is the beauty of body types. What sort of dress did you end up going with?

I love the drama of that dress from behind. Such classic elegance.

I love your dress. It looks like you are floating the way the bottom is embellished. You are going to look so beautiful walking down the aisle and dancing all night.

I felt the same way when looking for a dress. I knew that I was not a ballgown kind of girl and from the get-go tried on sheath style dresses almost exclusively. I ended up with a sleeveless sheath dress that I absolutely love. The strapless ballgown look is very possible, but certainly not the thing you HAVE to wear in order to be the most beautiful bride you can be!

ETA: Your dress is gorgeous!

gorgeous, love that!!!

I love the neckline of your dress. I wish I had seen that dress to tryon.

I'm not doing a strapless, and my gown is more A line than it is ball gown (see below). I'm going through the same exact thing as you are...at first I didn't want the big, puffy skirt with the French bustle, and now I kinda wish I went there.

Bottom line is that I have to remember I did try those on, and went with my gown for a reason. Yours is stunning, and I'm sure you chose it for a reason as well.

NO WORRIES.

Wedding dresses don't have to be strapless or ballgowns.

I am wearing the Maggie Sottero Grace Marie dress...it looks MUCH better in person then on the model. I didn't like the look of the fuller dresses on my body and I have rather broad shoulders that I don't particularly think wear strapless well.
