When I went to try on dressess the ballgowns didnt feel like me. So I went with a bodyskiming sheath/mermaid. However, I am having regrets since I am thinking my wedding is the one time I could wear the cinderella dress and all of the ballgowns everyone on this site has picked out are so beautiful. If any one else is not doing the ballgown, I could use the support. I tried to paste a link and picture below. . . which looks like I am searching for compliments, but really just honesty.
All the dresses are so gorgeous and unique!!! Your my twin!!! I now finally realize what that means. I'm so happy I found you, cause I was looking for other people with my date and i was starting to think I picked a bad luck date and no one told me. We picked the same date and we picked no strapless.
P.S. I love your dress. The cap sleves are such a beautiful touch.

no sweetie it's a great day, i know another bride getting married on our day and she's such a nice person too!! i don't like strapless to begin with, it doesn't look nice when people are pulling up their dresses.

Re: Any one not doing a strapless ballgown????
This is the ONLY other dress I would have wanted over mine. I couldnt afford it and I dont lose (or gain) weight so buying the sample in hopes to lose weight would not be an option for me. It is far from a typical and conventional wedding dress but MAN was it ever gorgeous and PERFECT for me.
that dress you chose is elegant and absolutely STUNNING. i went with a mermaid too because it was just more flattering. either way, it's a dress that i would never ever be able to wear anywhere.
Your dress is gorgeous. I am not doing a strapless ballgown - I am doing strapless, but a more fitted design. A ballgown just isn't my style, I think they are beautiful, but I would feel goofy wearing one:

Re: Any one not doing a strapless ballgown????
It's funny that you mention the strapless ballgown. I was dead set on not going that route because everyone these days wears a strapless ballgown. Nonetheless, when I went to try on dresses, I ended up with a strapless ballgown. I think sometimes the dress you picture in your head is not what you end up purchasing.
Personally, I love the dress you selected. It will make you feel like cinderella because it's your wedding dress. It's the person that makes the dress. Your dress looks like it was made for a princess. I am sure that, on your wedding day, it will make you feel like one.

I ended up going with this:
I love this dress - this is exactly the type of dress i wanted!!
Don't get me wrong i really love my strapless A-line dress (not quite as full as a ballgown but still a big dress) But i really wanted shoulder straps and a sheathe like dress but they didnt flatter me b/c i am pear shaped - the A-line makes me look slim.
I say go with any dress you love!! I was suprised that i loved my dress and am thrilled with it b/c its not at all what i am attracted to normally - you will look gorgeous and your dress is phenomenal!!!
Goodluck i think you have a gorgeous dress!!!

I ordered a strapless A-line, but they're putting wise set straps on it....I didn't want a strapless dress.....I have hips and a booty, sheath dresses were not for me.
Your gown is gorgeous, congrats!

Re: Any one not doing a strapless ballgown????
I'm not wearing a strapless. Mine has wide straps on the shoulder, fits tight at the tummy and then flows out to a large, sprawling dress. The link is no longer avail on David's Bridal, otherwise I'd show you, but once the fittings begin, I'll post!

I am not doinga ballgown dress either.. i had originalyl planned on i thtough to get the whole i am a princess. But when I tried them on I realized I was too short and looked horrible in a ballgown dress.
My dress is A-line, it comes out but not poofy like a ball gown dress. But I think your dress is gorgeous and if you know thats the one, I would stick with it!!

Re: Any one not doing a strapless ballgown????
I just wanted to say- I am not the ballgown type either. I bought one, and ended up buying a second dress. My new dress is a more slim A line, and I couldn't be happier. except for the fact that I have lost my deposit on the first gown...
Oh-and that dress is STUNNING!!! Congrats!

Re: Any one not doing a strapless ballgown????
I am going strapless, but it's a trumpet gown, sort of a cross between a mermaid and a-line. I realized very early on that I couldn't carry a ballgown - it's not my style, nor did it fit my personality. on my wedding day, i want to feel like a gorgeous version of myself, and the bigger dresses made me feel like an imposter!
edited to say that YOUR DRESS IS GORGEOUS!!

Re: Any one not doing a strapless ballgown????
my dress is not strapless or ballgown- i thought i wanted strapless until i tried them on- i found that halter looked the best on me-- go with what you like
If my butt looked good in that dress... I'd wear it! I'm having trouble finding a dress because I don't like the big ballgown dresses. They're just too much for me. Your dress it beautiful!

I think you're dress is absolutely gorgeous and you're gonna look beautiful in it
I, too, went dress shopping dead-set against a strapless ballgown but that's what I ended up with. Even when I showed the pic to a few girls I work with they were shocked...for some reason everyone said they pictured me in more of a sheath or something...I STILL wish I could wear like 4 different dresses on my wedding day and mix it up a bit
