Me too Im curious to know what they charge. I was watching them on Bridezilla and it seems as though they do nothing the brides were doing everything. So let me know what is the purpose, I have no clue.

no DOC for me - I cant see spending extra cash on a DOC although Im sure they are fabulous Id rather take the money and spend it on my HM or something else JMO

We are going tohave a planner b/c we are so far away.
Basically they do anyting you need help with as far as the wedding...vendor appointments, set up a budget, barter with vendors, make sure that you understand your contracts, they are basically your voice. They make sure your room is set up the way you want it, keep you on top of your payments..they take care of the stuff you might forget the day of (tips, final payments, etc.)

No wedding planner of DOC here...I saw a DOC once, and thought she looked really unprofessional (showed up to the wedding in a black sweatsuit!)- I just don't think they're necessary...but then again, I'm only have 130 ish guests, and trying to stay within a small budget...if I was having a huge wedding, I'd probably want help!

We're using Francesca from Dazzling Affairs. I can honestly say it was the best decision we've made in the planning process to have her on our team. She's helping me plan from start to finish. Love her!

We have one and she has been great. It depends on what you want. Ours is $5,000 for help throughout (she gives recommendations but we made all the appointments) plus full DOC. She is also doing our decor and flowers (although we have to pay for whatever she uses). I have a question though - when your planner lives over an hour away from the wedding - what is the protocol with the hotel. Do we need to book her a room for both nights....just one??? Anyone know???
