So I was looking at the Riviera in Massapequa and wanted to know if anyone has any opinions/comments about the place. Is it worth it to look into it further, maybe go see the place?? Thanks girls!!

Beautiful location. Food was good too. I loved the room and would have loved to have gotten married there, but don't think it was big enough for our guest list.

The outdoor area there is really beautiful. I love being on the water, and I think that other than the beach wedding venues, the riviera has the most magnificent water view and ceremony location. The inside can be crowded if you are having a lot of people, but if you're not, it can really be great. It was a close second choice for me.

found them a little unprofessional in how they treat prospective customers....sorry and the room is crowded if you have too many people.

I went to a wedding there about 2 years ago. Um, i felt that the room was way way too small for the amount of people they had. And I wasnt too thrilled with the service.

Re: Any opinions on the Riviera?
We were planning on booking at Timber Point and went to Riviera because my gay FBIL's friend RAVED about it. We fell in love as soon as we walked in. I know the prices are $95 for a Friday and $74 for Sunday. Not sure about Saturday. They have a 120 minimum which is what we are planning on having, maybe a few more. We dealt with Meagan who is a fellow teacher so she threw in some freebies. They do give TONS of food for the money and hopefully it won't rain.
I think Meagan only works Sundays since school is in but if you're interested I can FM her personal email to you.

I went to a wedding at the Riviera about a year ago and I really enjoyed it. The location is beautiful right on the water and the food was very good. Check it out!

I am getting married there and love it!!!! It has such a nice, homey feeling to it. I was undecided with here and JT but, one bride at a time here and they gave us a great deal. They are havung a bridal show on November 4th 1-4. It is 5 a person but they will have vendors and the food tasting there. Check it out. P.S. If you are thinking of having 200 or more though it will be tight.

Re: Any opinions on the Riviera?
i'm getting married there. I honestly wasn't looking for 'the perfect place' but i wanted water and 1 wedding at a time, and I didn't want a cheesy hall with lots of brass and big chandeliers Riviera was the last place i looked and it's perfect for what we want - the inside is rustic and simple, and the outdoor area is beautiful. I had never heard of it - every wedding i've been to is at the fox hollow, crest hollow, coral house, russos, etc. so i kind of liked that fact. hopefully the food will be good and it won't rain! Oh, and I thought they were very reasonable price wise. I met with both Meghan and Michelle - they're both really nice. Definitely go look - it's worth checking out. I do agree though if you plan on a big wedding it's a little small - our minimum is 110 and we're (hopefully) inviting 145 so we'll be fine with the amount of room.

the first night we were supposed to see it FH got into a car accident coming to pick me up at the LIRR. I called them and they were SO nice about it. He was fine, and we went anyway, just late, but i thought they were great and accommodating.

Re: Any opinions on the Riviera?
I went to a wedding there in July and it was lovely. The outside area for the cocktail hour was so nice; you're right on the water, and the area is huge - everyone was able to have a table with a view, and at most other cocktail hours I've been to you have to fight for a chair. The inside room is not one of your typical huge Long Island catering hall rooms, but at the wedding I was at, which must have been under 200 people, it never seemed crowded. And the food was great. I'd recommend checking it out.

I went to a friend's wedding there and it was great. The outside CH was really awesome and the inside food was great. However, if you are having more than 150, the room is not big enough.
