Any other actresses/singers out there?

Just wondering how many of us are out there. How are you finding balancing persuing a career and wedding planning, and full time jobs?

Where do you perform? Are you currently auditioning? I seemed to be at a standstill. Do you work in the city?

I do not have and have not for the past year had a fulltime job- I would not have been able to do it all! For the last 6 months up until the wedding I really just planned- and thats about it- and now I still have no 'real job' and have just been auditioning and working (acting/modeling). It's tough- but I love it!!!

My biggest dilema was the name change! I decided that professionally I am going to keep my last name because that is how everyone knows me (agents, casting directors, etc..) and then for my license and CC and stuff I think I am going to change it-

What are you going to do once it's time to have children? I'm at a place where I feel I need to make a decision for one or the other....I feel like I can do both, but is that putting unfair pressure on FH?

We aren't sure that we want children and if we decide to have them it won't be for a long time... so.... right now I am just focusing on my career and being a good wife and that's all I need to worry about right now

I was a singer but I put everything on hold when we were pregnant. Hard to sing well with a kid kicking you in the stomach

I swore I was going to go back but I haven't. And my voice has definitely suffered. My voice also changed during pregnancy, which they say happens. Damn hormones. My lows are richer but my highs are ... just different.

I've never heard that pregnancy changes your voice....how does it happen?

Yes - it def does. My voice coach warned me too. You get all sorts of crazy raging hormones during pregnancy & it affects your voice. Most women get a deeper, richer voice. But my higher register suffered.

Plus, you can't breathe when you are pregnant so you can't hit the big notes. Ever notice how pregnant women are always panting and wheezing? The baby squishes your diaphragm.

Does it go back to normal after the baby?

Re: Any other actresses/singers out there?

I'm an actor and a drama teacher. I haven't been acting much at all lately. I had an injury a few years ago, and then while I was in a cast and on crutches, I gained about 20 lbs and lost my agent. But, right around that same time, I fell madly in love with FH. My life has changed a bit. I do miss acting, but I actually am happy teaching and wedding planning. I might get back to it, but I don't have it in me anymore to pursue it as a career. I used to work part time, and spend every ounce of time I had not working going to open calls, working on showcases, and basically, my entire life was pursuing my acting career. I had a few good gigs, but definitely not consistently enough to earn a living as a full time actor.
Its a personal choice. Its not easy at all to balance it all, but if you can afford to work part-time, why not keep at it?
