I've seen people do signing plate. In port jeff there is this cermic store right in that mini mall down port, and they had a couple use a plate as a guest book. People signed it with a gold paint pen and the then the plate was fired. The bride and groom then put their picture in the middle surrounded by everyones name. I thought that was cute/.
My sister has a destination wedding. Instead of a guest book, my mom bought a book of local pictures, sort of like a travel book. The guests signed next to the pictures. My sister loves it.
