Any other teachers today had kids from hell?

Original post by GettinHutched

Wondering if this is nationwide or something but the kids were just NUTS today...didn't matter what age. Although my first graders this morning were the best of the bunch...2nds terrible, 4ths terrible (THAT I can't stand)....yikes!

Please tell me I'm not alone! I virtually have no voice and I got one more day to go for the week!

yesterday my class was as loud as they could be ... i couldn't begin to hear myself think. today was better, but a few of my girls had 'friendship/gossip' issues. i teach third grade, so tons of tears flowed as they settled down and decided to be best friends once again! gotta love this age group!!! :)

Ahhhh! I know the feeling. I teach first grade and we had an 'accidental' fire drill this morning...one of my kids started screaming and hid under her desk! I had to pick her up and practically drag her out!

Mind you we have had like 5 fire drills before this one and this NEVER happened!

Is it a full moon? And how many days until Feb break?

I have 10th and 11th graders and we have midterms this week and Regents next weeks so the kids are crazy. I can't wait for all the STRESS to be over!!

My seventh graders were off the wall today, but they're like that everyday. I'm not too fond of the bunch this year

Man, when I hear of fights breaking out, kids crying, projectile vomiting I realize my day wasn't that bad!!!

I really just dealt with kids who would NOT focus no matter what. What stinks is that I have to take two classes at once for 'chorus' so you've got these two sections of 2nd grade/4th grade (in today's case) who are so excited to be together finally. The talking, the goofing off- doesn't stop!!!! When that happens I start to think I'm doing something wrong and I haven't come up with anything interesting to do. The problem is, when I have that many students, they simply just have to sit there and learn to sing new songs! It's hard enough to keep them in line at their seats...imagine if I let them out of their seats?!?! AAHHHH

But then I'll have a bad class, immediately after I teach the same lesson, and it goes great. So I know it's not always me- and I hear it from the other specialists as well!

Sorry for the long vent- I am just exhausted and I'm totally in the January blues!!!

My school was a MAD HOUSE!!! The kids decided to have a ROYAL RUMMBLE=
ALL OUT BRAWL between the 7th and 8th grades.
Chaos.

Yes, someone else who is crazy enough to teach high school. i have the same grades and they were insane since there was a delayed opening due to the middle school ELA. They figure if the class is only 25 minutes, what can we learn.
