Lisa- I am over 30 too. I guess I've been lucky, everyone has been great so far, happy for us. They seem interested but are they 'really excited and dying to hear all the plans'?? well...I have to say that this board has definitely been great for that. I have concluded that it is unrealistic to expect people to want to chat over the details of my wedding...in detail. But here with my fellow brides-to-be, I have found the outlet for that stuff. Hopefully along the way, I have provided some helpful stuff too :o)

Any over 30 brides? 30 Ahhm Something?
Well I am definitely over 30 and this is a first marriage for both of us. Funny thing is - in the last year 5 of my 'over 30 never married' girlfriends have become engaged/married. All the old chicks are finally settling down!
Everyone is happy and interested in our plans, but I try not to go too overboard or steer all conversations to 'the wedding'. My Mother has been waiting a long time for this and think she is more excited than I am.

Any over 30 brides?
Lisa, I have to tell you I feel the exact same way. I am 30 but I am not sure it has to do with age. My bridesmaids are all married (2 are my FI's sisters) and have not asked about anything. My mother lives in CA so she is not here to help with the planning. My fiance and I are doing everything --he is wonderful help--but I can't help myself from feeling unexcited because it seems like no one else is excited for me. Part of me thinks it is because the wedding date is so far away (Sept 16, 2001) and maybe in time, everyone will be more helpful and excited. We shall see. I have been considering elopement recently though!! good to know I am not the only one feeling this way! I was only twelve when I was my sister's Maid of Honor. Maybe that is something your daughter can do for you.
