There is a really good thread on Bride's helping Brides. It was called have you ever been to a wedding at..... ill see if I can bump it for you. It was everyone writing reviews on different places. Check that Board.

I went to a wedding there last summer. It was kind of a lot of show with very little attention to detail. I thought the place was gaudy personally.

Just to let you know I am having my reception at Russo's. If your conception of Russo's is gaudy, please if I were you I would really reconsider where you are having your reception. I've never been to giorgios but I can tell you I've heard lots of stories like bathrooms were dirty and the staff was not proffessional, so before your quick to pass judgement on Russo's I would for sure take a second look at where your reception is being held at! Not saying that all weddings at Giorgios were bad Im sure there were some nice ones but I think you should think what you say before you post another hurtful reply on this website b/c I was offended. you did not have to say anything but, 'I did not like it there' that would not have been rude, then you had to go and use the word gaudy. I really think posting that comment was gaudy!

I have been to a few weddings at Russo's. The food and service are excellent... that is what they are known for. We are getting married there in Feb.

Hi! I've been to Russo's 2 times. By far my favorite place. Great food!!! You get like 10 choices for dinner!!! And CH was great! Lots of food, pretty view of the water. I prefer the smaller room (tivoli) as far as decor goes. The desserts are amazing!! If I could afford a saturday night wedding there I'd do it in a heart beat!!!

I loved the fact that there was so many dinner choices. I hate the traditional chicken, meat, or fish (thats soooo boring)

Agreed. In my opinion Russo's wasn't my cup of tea either. Having said that I Love howard beach and the food at Russo's is AMAZING.

My sister had a wedding this year it was not all that. I really think that they charge a little bit much for there services. the eleven choice dinner was not all of that the dessert was the best part of the wedding. If u want a place with a lot of food that your guest will not eat and pay $$$$$ for and that is your place but if you want a place that is nice and give u a lot of food and the service will be great then this hall will not be for you. My sister spent a lot on her wedding and when she went to her girlfriends wedding somewhere else (will not say the location) she was upset because the place nicer with a lot of good food and the girl payed almost half what she paid. in other words, russo's is nice but to much money you are just paying for the name.

We go there every year for a charity dinner dance. I LOVE their food, the most yummy penne alla vodka I ever had!

People have different taste, I too have heard that Villa is too 'guido' But will my very large Italian family just what I wanted! I was going to go with Russo's but didn't want to travel to Queens and I don't like the ceremony set up. They are into the marble and such,in some people's taste may seem gaudy, but everyone has a right to their opinion! Shouldn't flame people on their perception and opinion of a place.

Russo's bride emailed me personally-the whole point of asking the question of what you think-is to say what your opinion is. If we all gave glowing reviews to every vendor, it would not help anyone. My comments were not a personal attack, just my opinion. I do not apologize for stating what I felt. Thanks to all the feedback I received from this Board, it helped me make wise choices regarding my vendors. I appreciate all comments-but there is no need to email me, and get all upset and attack my venue. You can't really comment on a place you have never been. I have been to Russo's. I didn't like it-but alot of people do. The point-everyone is entitled to their opinion and has the right to post it.

I understand this was your opinion, but I feel you said it in a nasy way, not in a nice way, thats all. The end
