Haven't started shopping for a wedding gown yet but I'm hoping and praying to get some amazing deal at a sample sale. Is this wishful thinking?? I'd love to hear some sucess stories, especially from a Kleinfelds bride.

Re: Any sample sale success stories out there?
I actually got a gorgeous Melissa Sweet dress at a POB sample sale. It was originally $4K but I got it for $1K and you can hardly tell it is a sample!

I was able to get a Reem Acra at a Sample Sale. The dress is in excellent shape, just missing two beads.

I didn't go to a sample sale but got my dress for 50% off without trying to...when i tried on the sample & loved it the place told me that had a brand new one...in stock...with tags...never worn for 1/2 off...tried it on & it fit perfectly...i bought it on the spot! Miracles can happen! Must have been a cancellation or bride who changed her mind.

What's the difference between a trunk show and a sample sale?

a sample sale, the dress you buy is a sample dress that they have in the store for brides to try on. When you go wedding dress shopping the dresses you are trying on are samples. So every once in a while a store will sell some of the samples they have been using and you can buy it for about 50% off or more.
A trunk show is the same as thing as when you go dress shopping. They make the dress for you the way its usually done, only that you get 10-15% off. The designer is usually there or one of their representatives, they bring in new designs but any of their dresses you buy that day you get at a discount

I got my dress at a Kleinfeld's sample sale. Wonderful experience and I never would have been able to afford my dress otherwise. Good luck!!

I got my dress at the Saks sample sale. It's a Melissa Sweet. Pics in my album. I highly recommend hitting Saks when they have the sample sale. The ladies that work there are very knowledgable and take the time to help you.

Re: Any sample sale success stories out there?
I recently tried on a sample that was beautiful and being sold as is... there was NOTHING wrong with it. I really love it, and have tossed it back and forth since it would save me a ton of money, I could have the dresss right then and there, and I wouldn't need a single alteration to the dress. Honestly I'm 99% sure this is my dress, that 1% is simply because it's a sample dress & the reason I haven't bought it is simply that 1- I'm afraid 'what if in a year I dont like it or it doesnt fit' (even though I know it will) and 2-'how and where am I going to store this dress for an entire year' (even though I'm sure I could figure that out)
...if I could stop being so much of a thinker and worrier over nothing, I'd have MY perfect dress for like 75% less of an original price tag, but this is me lol I 2nd guess myself with EVERYTHING & make myself insane!! I'm sure in the end I'll be back there after making myself nuts to buy the dress
