I get looks too because I am getting married on a Monday.

But its labor day....We wanted that Sunday but they were Saturday prices since people were off the next day. So we are getting Sunday prices for Labor Day monday, and people still say something every now and then

I had originally wanted a Monday- July 3rd, because I figured it would be SO cheap!
But FH didn't want to get married before his friend, who was engaged before us.

there are people who will always have something to way whether its the day you get married, the food, the hall, just anything. YOu need to ignore them because as long as your happy thats all that matters so be happy with your Thursday.

Someone I know is having a fabulous wedding that happens to be on a Thursday. If I'm still here I wouldn't miss it for the world - those that love you will be there no matter what day. It's becoming more and more popular.

think about it though--you most likely will never have to worry about the vendors you want being booked which is nice! plus, you will probably be able to save some money on a lot of them b/c most vendors usually don't make any money on mondays so they can cut you a deal because they are making extra that weekend b/c of you than they usually do-- i think it's a great idea and such a nice time of year to have a wedding!

I'm a Thursday Bride!!!!!! I'm getting married November 9th. Veteran's Day is Saturday and the Friday before is observed for Sat. So...for some people the Thursday night is like a Friday night... Plus most of my family is retired, and my friends said they wouldn't miss it for the world..And the people I work with find it easier to get off on a Thursday night anyway.... But all in all, Fh and I are paying for it, and we are saving alot of money. And if the people you invite care about you they'll be there

I went to a Thursday night wedding, it was no different than a Friday night. I missed the church because I was at work.. People left early b/c had ot work the next day. but who cares. it is your day and over the years your anniversary will be everyday of the week! Good luck and don't let other people bother you!!

I'm a thursday night bride....and not even a thursday before a holiday...we couldnt make the minium for a weekend at our hall and it was 75pp less for the thursday plus the $$$ savings were good too. And what i've said to everyone who has decided to comment on it is that given enough notice the people who want to be there will be there and the ones who arent there proabbly werent as imporant anyway.

If it works for you, who cares what anyone thinks.

You can work on them a little, and get some extras, which is nice. But I also had a problem guaranteeing a high amount for the weekend. I was able to guarantee 90 people for that night...

Re: any Thursday night brides??

we were going to do the riviera if not the fox hollow. luckily fh only made us guarantee 80 for a thursday night... we are inviting probably 120..but only expecting around 100.

that was the only drawback for us with the riviera..but omg i love the riviera..its soooooo beautiful!!!!!
the only other reason we didnt pick riviera is our wedding is in the fall and it gets dark around 6 30 ish and if i had a day wedding i would have done the riviera for sure bc of the view of the water!!!
