any tips for saving money, in general?

Original post by JessicaLuvsDanny

Does anyone have any suggestions for saving money in everyday life? I'm not really looking for suggestions on how to save money on wedding costs, just ways to accumulate more $$$ to use for whatever reason.

Thanks in advance

Watch out with Bank of America. They were charging me 29% interest when I started at 14%. They said it was because I had a lot of debt even though I paid my bills on time. They almost made me bankrupt. I luckily was able to consolidate my debt into a low interest loan and should be debt free two years after the wedding.

I have an ING account and I deposit $20 every 2 weeks, it really builds up and you don't even miss that $20 that comes out.

Bring your breakfast and lunch to work so you're spending the money on it. Don't buy coffee or tea at Starbucks. All this stuff adds up.

please dont do this!!

if you dotn buy i wont have a job

Don't worry there are too many addicts to put you on the unemployment line

One other thing I did was check with my cell phone company for a cheaper plan. I ended up with the same minutes and everything, but saved a bundle of money every month. I did get rid of the ability to send pics on my phone though and go online, but its only temporary.

I agree. I definitely try to make my own coffee at home each morning and bring it in a mug as a I travel. And I also try to bring my own lunch when I can, so I'm not spending a ton of money eating out at lunch.

And it's so true that eating out a lot can really be a drain. So if you can stay in more and make meals, you're better off.
