Any tips on how not to be uncomfortable in front of the camera?

I am awful with taking pictures. I hate getting my picture taken. I can't smile. I look like an idiot. Any tips on how to be comfortable? Help, please!

that's the great thing about Dom and the 12th Night gang...they get you so comfy that you are cheesing and posing like a supermodel before you know it.

let them help you...you are in good hands girl!

I actually practiced smiling in a mirror before the wedding. I know, I'm a total geek. But I just had some major dental work done and it changed the way I smile.

The worst part is portraits because they're posed. You could tell your photographers that you want 75% candids of the rest, that you don't want to know they're photographing you.

It's possible. There were a ton of proofs that surprised me because I had no idea they were photographing the things, or the people they did.

i definitely agree - cocktails are the best remedy!

however, you can also search online for a way to pose that looks flattering

i have HORRENDOUS posture and i always looked goofy in pictures and then i learned to stand up straight and kind of put one foot out in front to look slimmer. . . so no shot is like head on - also i never keep my arms pressed against my body almost out a little so your arms look toned ( learned this from one of my friends) - always keep my chin up etc. . . .these are stupid things i learned so now when i take a picture i automatically do that! ( of course i mean special pictures not like all my pictures with friends and stuff!)

im a dork but hope this helps!

I think that on the day of your wedding, you will be so happy that you will have a 'perma-smile' glued to your face anyways.

When it comes to your day you will have your own glow and will look radiant...you will have a NATURAL smile...cos you will be happy...!

Oh and by the sounds of your photographer he knows how to bring that inner beauty out of you that you will be feeling and looking like catwalk model...you will look FAB

I agree I will be beaming on my wedding day and will be modeling my dress and the whole getup, so that will all probably help! But- what about engagement photos? I will feel like such a goof!

I've heard from several photographers that to get the most natural smile you should do the following:

Close your eyes. Take a deep breath. Have the photographer count to 3 and when the photographer hits 2, open your eyes and smile. Supposedly it makes for a great pic!!!

I was so nervous about this and I was nervous for a little while at first but after a while you are so swept up into the day that you dont even notice the cameras are there. You will be having the best day of your life also so your smile will be beuatiful when the pics are posed too!
