I was in my cousin's wedding last night which was held at the Grand Marquis in New Jersey. Everything was BEAUTIFUL and we had the greatest time!!

There was a slight problem at first when the limo forgot to pick up the bride, who does that??? All us BM's and the bride showed up an hour late to the church, the priest along with most of the guests were outside the church!! Can you imagine???...It was CRAZY but the minute she walked down the aisle all the problems were forgotten and from that moment on it was a magical affair

Re: any weddings this weekend

My fiance' and I went to my cousins wedding last night - it was at Lomardi's On The Sound / Port Jefferson Country Club.
It was very nice. We had a great time.

I will give you my review - I am in the wedding business so I am VERY critical, Keep in mind.

The cocktail hour was beautiful. Very nice sunset background on the LI Sound. Indoors & patio area. Wedding started at 7:30pm - by 8:00pm the sun was setting and it made a great back drop for pictures. The room had 2 bars in, but both only had one baretender so the lines where long. BUT there was more than enough seating for EVERYONE - inside and outside, so you did not have to do that thing were you balance your wine glass, purse & plate of food all at the same time while you try to eat your finger food gracefully! Food was Plentiful and delicious. The main reception room was nice, pretty dance floor, but it was a bit small for our party. I belive we had about 20 oval tables(10 - 12 people per table - So 200 plus guests). AND there were 2 or 4 ?? Square columns in the room blocking guests from seeing the dance floor. It was tight - but if you were having only 150 guests - I think it would be OK. We had a five course meal. On the plate as we entered the room was a fresh mozzarella & roasted pepper dish. Followed by Rigatoni Marinara, then Ceaser Salad all were very, very good- but I was too full to eat I all. Main course we had about 5 choices - they were listed in 2 frames on the table - the frames and glass were dirty & the waitress handed them to us b/c she could not find room on the table ( the service was very good overall though).
I ordered a Boneless NY Strip Steak (SO GOOD) & my fiance had Salmon (ALSO VERY GOOD).
Dessert was Italian Pastries, Cake & Vanilla Ice Cream (breyers I Think) All also very good.
On a scale of 1 - 5 (5 being best)

FOOD - 5
BAR SERVICE - 3
WAITSTAFF - 4
COCKTAIL ROOM - 5
RECEPTION ROOM - 3.5
OVERALL DECORATION - 4
OVERALL RATING - 4

Let me know if you have any other questions.
