Hi everyone....both my FH and I are Guyanese and i wanted to know how any other WI brides or brides who are marrying WI men are incorporating cultural/traditional themes into their reception?
I will be having rum cake (black cake) put into boxes as part of the edible favors.....I will also have Henna done to my hands and feet.....
oh and at our wedding ceremony we will have a Tassa Band (Drummers that are very essential to a Hindu wedding!)

Re: Any West Indian Brides???
Im West Indian as well, there is a West Indian bride thread on Brides helping Brides. I am also doing the rum cake and I am having steel pan during the ceremony and my DJ is West Indian so there will be lots of Soca and Reggae being played throughout the reception. I also am having a rhythm section to go along with the Dj.

I haven't been to any weddings where he played before but he is a local Dj and he plays at many of the clubs that I go to and I listen to him on the radio all the time. He is a friend of mine. SpoilBrattz Entertainment
