Any Westchester brides out there?

I know there are not many of us, but I would like to get a thread going. I need some help with vendors! Any takers?

I see that you are having your wedding at the Fountainhead, I think that you have to use their house vendor for Flowers. My BF is getting married there in November, its beautiful!! Congratulations!!

Their house vendor(s) are Arcadia's in Mamaroneck and Diana Gould Ltd. in Elmsford. I only personally know about Arcadia's. They were voted the best florist in Westchester. Their work is amazing, although they are a little pricey.

Westchester Floral Decorators in Pelham is another great florist.

If you are looking for something/someone a little less pricey than I can highly recommend Pelham Manor Florist. Lidia does some amazing work, she has done many of my friends and families weddings. I am 99% sure that I am going with her.

My sister got married in Westchester and her florist was Arcadia. Her flowers looked AMAZING!! I have some pics in my album!!!

Thanks everyone! Yes, I do have to use either Arcadia or Diana Gould - for centerpieces only. I can go to outside vendors to decorate the chapel and for my personal bridal bouquets. I heard Diana Gould is 30% more than Arcadia! Good Lord. (the reason why i am looking for more outside vendors).

LOL...Stick with Arcadia's, IMO they are the best!

I am using Westchester Floral for flowers.

Don't know about hair/makeup but Naomi Martinez and Christine from Color Makeup are suppposed to be great.

I am using Kenny Pang for photography. Golden Moments for video.

My good friend is getting married at Fountainhead in July. She is using the house vendor for flowers-for everything

she is using a LI band- Daybreak's Night and they are NOT charging her a travel fee

not sure of her other vendors, but i can find out

Westchester bride Check........Glen Island Harbour Club, New Rochelle. I also have to choose between Arcadia and Diana Gould. Diana did my father's wedding last year, her flowers were nice!!! Not sure how much they cost.

Any ideas for make-up, hair, or a location for ceremony. I can have the ceremony at the club .....under a tent on the water, just scare if weather is not nice I'm stuck.

One of my bridesmaids is getting married at Glen Island a month before me. She is having her ceremony at the Club though indoors. She said she had the option of doing it outdoors but that it was in a separated area? So she chose to do it indoors at the Club.

Glen Island has two reception rooms, and two cocktail rooms.... if you choose the reception room with the panoramic water view, you can marry outside under the tent. If you choose the other reception room (no windows), you can marry in the chapel which has a stunning view of the water... It's all about preference and choices..

Westchester bride here! I'm getting married at the Colonial Mansion in White Plains and using a combo of Westchester and NYC vendors.

Thanks for the good wishes.. I was at a couple of functions there and they did a nice job.
My future brother-in-law got married at the fountainhead. There affair was wonderful. Did you know both places are owned by the same family?
Not sure about the florist, Diana Gould did my fathers wedding last December, the CP were nice, I am going to find out how much they cost. Arcadia does a wonderful job, seen a lot of their work around.
How about you, any vendors set up yet?

Thanks! I'm glad to hear good things about fountainhead. yes i heard fountainhead and Glen Island are owner by the same people but i know FH is the ghetto version of Glen Island =) in a good way of course - haha.

i have no vendors set up as of now. I thought I had a lot of time to plan but seems like people getting married later than me already have plenty booked. Guess I need to get started!

ghetto version..to funny... it is a beautiful place. I liked them just as much, FH didn't want same place as his brother.

You do have time, I on the other hand, keep hearing the clock...tick, tick, tick....

I don't have much done. I have no photographer, no band, no clergyman, no invitations, no bridesmaid dresses. Actually it would be shorter if I said, I just got my dress last week, and I have the RH, and a choice of florists. That's it!

I am really not sure what I am waiting for. Although in my defense, we just bought a house and I have spent a lot of time with renovations, packing, painting, blah, blah, blah...

I am more nervous about finding the right person for my hair and make-up, how vain am I . If I don;t look good then I really won't care how good the photographer is or how great the band is..LOL...

I need help!!!!! Maybe a DOC

Im from queens but getting married at surf club. havent looked at florist yet but heard gould was pricey too. thinking of westchester floral going by what us reccommended
