ive been on and off ambein since i had my daughter...but the past few months i just feel like when i do take it my body is so off track for days after! i never felt like that b4 but now i feel like when i do need a sleep aide im better off trying something else.....i now have a new Rx of Lunesta....anyone take it? is it any good?

I tried it but it made my mouth taste like it would if you licked a penny. I prefer ambien to lunesta

I take trazadone.. it's the generic for desryl.. It's non addicting.. and non habit forming which I guess is the same thing.. lol..
I take 50mg.. small dose and it works well.. doesn't make me groggy in the morning, I am perfectly ok when I wake up..

trazadone? hmmm is that a new 1? sounds familiar! i def need something that isnt addictive! i dont like taking it everyday...i only need it 1 or 2 days at most....but havent taken anything in months and im getting drained! i need a good nights zzzzz so i wanna start something new!

I tried an new non-habit forming prescription that is suppose to re-set your internal clock to assist in falling asleep (I forgot the exact name) However, it did not work at all for me! I actually resort to Unisom which works the best for me!

it's not a new drug.. Desryl (sp) has been around for a long time, my mom used to take it before ambien came out.. check out web md

I like Sonata. But you really need to give yourself 8 hours otherwise you will feel like crud when you wake up.

I'm not really into taking strong stuff to help me sleep but an alternative I've tried is called Calms Forte. They are natural. To calm your nerves you take 2 little pills and if you need a sleep aid you take 3-4 little pills. They work great and you won't have that drugged up feeling.

I just filled a Rx for Ambien to try out before the wedding. I want to take it the night before because I'm afraid the same thing that happened the night before our engagement party will happen the night before our wedding... I was up at 3am and never got back to bed. My doc gave me a Rx and told me to try half a pill to start out. Maybe you can just half the dose and it will do the trick for you without messing you up?

I hate sounding like a 'buzzzz' kill.... but any sleep 'aid' can be habit forming.....even tylenol PM....when I work with my clients who are having a difficult time falling asleep....i Help them establish a night time routine (not watching TV , or reading in bed, not doing anything in bed but sex and sleeping)....most Of the time I am working with clients that it is stress and no night routine that keeps them up.....i Know this might not help I just wanted to let you know.....be Careful.

I think anything you do on a regular basis can be habit forming. that is the definition of habit. So occassionally I think it is okay, but like with anything , safely and in moderation.

I took lunesta 3 mg pill and it was WONDERFUL,... you pop it... 10 min get a funny taste in your mouth and you are out for 8 hours on the dot ...
i have to go back in a few months reup my script.. i had no withdrawl symptoms nothing.. loooooved it..
i have tried everythign from redoing my routine, cutting out caffine ALL DAY (that was painful), melatonin, simply sleep (tylonol pm without the tylonol).. nothing works as great as lunesta...

Don't try it for the first time the night before. try it one day on a weekend so you can see hoe your body reacts. the docs at my hospital order it for my patients and some women who take it are so knocked out for a long time. I use it but keeps me asleep for 4 hours max. ( I work nights as a rn so hard to sleep in the day with 2 big dogs jumping on me :) )

thanks for the advice. I definitely won't. That's why I filled it 2 months before the wedding, so I can try it out before the big day. Definitely wouldn't chance it the night before for the first time! I'm allergic and have bad reactions to WAY too many things (including BENADRYL and ANYTHING WITH 'PM') to risk that! That's why I wanted to try a sleeping pill, and that's why the doc told me to start off with HALF of the pill! She knows me! lol.
