Anybody Have Ideas for Centerpieces?
Re: Anybody Have Ideas for Centerpieces?
I am a sucker for charlotte roses.. especially in febuary... they look nice croweded in a ginger jar, and you can put votive candles around it...
Re: Anybody Have Ideas for Centerpieces?
Thanks that sounds nice. Has anyone ever had roses as there centerpieces? How much do they run for a centerpieces.
Re: Anybody Have Ideas for Centerpieces?
I had 2 dozen lavender roses w/baby's breath for my centerpieces (high w/votives). I got my flowers from Jay W. Becker in Floral Park and I paid $65 a table and I had 15 tables (total for flowers including centerpieces was around $1,700). I found them to be one of the cheapest when I was looking -- everywhere else wanted $75 or above for them!

If you haven't checked out the book 'Bridal Bargains' by Denise and Alan Fields check it out. They have a lot of great ideas for saving money and one of the things they talk about is getting your flowers by internet and doing the centerpieces yourself. They rate the websites and suggest if you're nervous you can even order just a few to check out quality. I think it's a great way to save money and get the flowers you want.
Re: Anybody Have Ideas for Centerpieces?
Just remembered: another nice idea for centerpieces (along the lines of the floating candles) is a bowl with floating flowers. You can use the heads of rose - this looks gorgeous - use a glass bowl so you can see all angels. Many different flowers can look cool this way too - I saw a picture of some clematis floating and it looked beautiful. Good luck.
Re: Anybody Have Ideas for Centerpieces?
If you can get some pictures of family members weddings - that would be amazing. With just some votives and rose petals. I love that idea. I just don't have enough people that stayed married!!!!!!

Re: Anybody Have Ideas for Centerpieces?
I bought 4 different sized pillar candles (martha stewart at K-mart) for a total of $10 per table. I hot glued them to a 8X8 mirror square (5$, Michaels). I am going to get a 8X8 styrofoam piece to put under that to elevate it a bit, and then have flowers going around it. This should cut down on the flower cost since I don't need as many flowers, plus I liked that I had something to do with making them.
Re: Anybody Have Ideas for Centerpieces?
Being that you are marrying in the winter, perhaps you can do something like this picture with pine/pinecones and candles. Although my centerpieces are included in my hall price, I am going to see if they can use pine as filler and add pinecones if I supply them (I am marrying in December). I thought this was cute, and pine is abundant during that time of year
