I've been asked to look into starting a local Toastmasters at our company and I'm wondering if it's worthwhile.
I've looked up the information on the website but I'm looking for some real honest feedback. (And if there is anything I can count on here it's honest feedback! )
Anyone have any experience with them?
TIA.

Is that the club to make speeches? If so, I was in one in college. Not my cup of tea really, but I guess it did help with public speaking.

Re: Anybody in Toastmasters??
Yes. It's the club where they make speeches.
Here's what the website says:
'At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. A typical Toastmasters club is made up of 20 to 30 people who meet once a week for about an hour.'
Sounds sort of cult-y to me.

We did it as a requirement for a public speaking class. We always had it during dinner--one would make a speech during appetizers, another a retirement speech during the meal, another a best man toast...Trying out all the different kinds of speeches.
