Anybody know anything about MAXTOR external hard drives?
I have a question regarding the MAXTOR external hard drive.
I have two icons that mount on my desktop.
One says
Maxtor 76 GB HD
Maxtor 700 MB HD
whats with the two different ones?
:( I am so computer illiterate, I am TRYING to cleanup this mess of a computer here at work.
Why would it mount 2 different hard drives if there is only one??????

Its possible the single hard drive may be partioned... which would make it come up as two separate hard drives.

How do you put them back together if they are partioned?

Its not a simple process and I wouldn't attempt it if you don't know your way around the computer.
One wrong click and you can wipe your entire hard drive. (no joke)
Just use the 76GB drive and just ignore the 700 or whatever MB one.
