Anybody know anything about replacing windows vs. replacing the casing outside?
I have had 2 estimates so far re: our windows. Parts of the house were really cold this winter, and we thought new windows would help keep the heat in next year.
The first guy was really nice and low key - not real obnoxiuos sales pitch, you know? He said that our windows are fine and that he'd replace them if we wanted, but reco'd changing the casing outside the windows instead b/c it's old and letting the heat leak out.
The second guy was kinda obnoxious, typical sales guy - totally pushing more work that we can afford right now. Like he was trying to get me to have him rip the whole bathroom out in addition to the roof and windows. Anyway, he said that changing the casing won't do anything, and that anyone who told me it would is lying to me.
Anyone know which guy is telling me the truth?
