INVITATIONS.?? We are throwing our neice a surprise sweet sixteen and need to buy pretty do-it-yourself invitations..I was thinking of going to staples or something, but I'm not sure they'll have what we want...something like the kind of invitation that we can print the wording on vellum paper then tie w/a bow onto cardstock...??? Also, looking for special colors as well...she really loves the tiffany blue color...You girls have any suggestions on where I can go buy?? help!

Re: ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN BUY DO-IT-YOURSELF...

I am going to Paper Access in Manhattan today. They sell by the bulk. Where do you live and how many invites? If it is alot of invites, you may want to consider it. They are located on 23 Wst. b/w 5 and 6.

If you do not have as many invites, you can also check out Staples, michaels, and Kinkos

Staples does have those... that's where I got my invitations for my engagement party - pretty silver paper with pearly white vellum paper and ribbon bows.

Re: ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN BUY DO-IT-YOURSELF...

For my engagment party I bought the 'invitation kits' at Staples which were on clearance...they are great b/c tehy have thank cards in thre too...then I bought the Vellum with metallic flecks in it at Michael's and printed the invite on it in gold then the ribbon was bought at Michael's too (on clearance - I got lucky!)
Try either place b/c they both sell the invitaiton kits which is on cream stock...

Christina, paper access is fantastic if u want to choose from all types of different colors and types of paper. I believe they also have a huge selection of premade invites so all u have to do is run them through your printer.
Good luck!

Re: ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN BUY DO-IT-YOURSELF...

Paper Access is awesome. I go there all the time. They have many different types of vellum and cardstock in packs of 50 or 100 depending on the type. They are also very helpful in there. It is on 18th Street between 5th and 6th. Check out the website:

I went today and I loved the store!!! They had so many cute cards and stock! I found the wine color with a shimmer stock for my wedding programs. I loved it! A must if you go into the City
