We are currently house hunting in Lb. Used to rent there during the summer and loved being so close to the beach. Any opinions on the area or does anybody currently reside there?

We don't - but miss it a lot. We almost bought a condo, but the seller got out and gave us our money back. I was so disappointed, and I miss the beach!
My DH used to live on Indiana and then moved to West Fulton (west end). His commute was good because he drove into lower Queens over the Atlantic Beach Bridge. But IMO, the houses are so close, we could hear the neighbors when they flushed their toilet! Its a great area, but I have heard from other commuting anywhere by car takes so long and the LIRR isn't much better.
I guess the state streets will offer a different lifestyle than the other areas. Its all your preference. We miss it though!!

Yeah I know the houses are close. Some people 'don't you want a backyard'? I tell them the beahc will be my yard . As long as I have a deck or porch to put my Bbq, then I am fine without a yard. We are looking primarily on the West End.
