Anybody's groom wearing tails?

Anybody's groom wearing tails and white tie?
Are they wearing a bow tie or an ascot?

I think FH is going to wear tails and white tie. He is considering a white ascot.

Any pics or ideas?

I love the look of a morning suit, but our reception is in the evening.

Has anyone's groom ever worn a morning suit for the church and tails for the reception?

Mine is - he is wearing a pique shirt, vest and bow tie - he is getting his from Victor Talbots - they didn't offer him the option of an ascot

Mine is - he is wearing a pique shirt, vest and bow tie - he is getting his from Victor Talbots - they didn't offer him the option of an ascot

I have read that the bow tie is the most formal, but they suggest an ascot if the man has a thick neck (FH is a big guy)

I guess we will see.

I think it will also depend on the vest he wears - since if I remember correctly the vest he had on didn't go that high up so I am not sure how the ascot would look - have you taken your FH to a tux place and had him try on both and see what looks and feels better?

He tried to go with the guys, but he was told to come back in the mid-April and come with me, not the guys. I guess we will see then.

My FH is wearing tails with the white bow-tie (non-pique) and white vest. I love the look! He's 6'1' and 225 lbs.
I would think an ascot would make a guy's neck look bigger?
