Anybody want to start an '06 weight loss support group?
I started a 'diet' of sorts today and I've already cheated!! I need someone to vent to and share struggles with, someone who can keep me in check and accountable for sticking to it! Since we are all here I figured I 'd ask y'all if you'd like to help me? Or, rather, if we could help each other!

Re: Anybody want to start an '06 weight loss support group?
I'm in! I have been eating well and exercising lately but right after Easter I am going to attempt the South Beach diet. I just finished reading the book through the first two weeks and I think I am set. I will continue to do what I am doing now but get REALLY strict right after Easter.

I love food too! I made a modified weight watchers pizza for dinner tonight. Getting in those last minute carbs!

Re: Anybody want to start an '06 weight loss support group?
I'm in. I've been doing WW for 3-4 weeks now and before that I was doing South Beach. I've lost about 15 pounds since mid-January, but my wedding's next month and my dress is too small - I really need to lose another 10 pounds or so, and it's been very hard. Aside from wedding stress, I've had a lot of work and family stress and food used to be a coping mechanism for me... so I could really benefit from a weight loss support group.

I'm in, but just FYI there's a support group on the SlimDown board.I've lost 26 lbs so far, but had gained 3 lbs this week....bumming about it. I'm also PMSing & seem to be eating everything in sight....not good either b/c I have off all next week & tend to eat when I'm not at work & in my usual schedule

Hm.. I looked there but couldn't find it... I'll look again, can never have too much support.
So I started yesterday, just making little changes. Instead of pasta for lunch, I had celery with peanut butter and a banana (FH laughed and told me it sounded gross!) and a regular dinner. Then my parents called and invited me and the kids out for ice cream, so instead I got a small frozen yogurt which I shared with my 2 YO. I think I'm off to a pretty good start...
Also, I think I may have found a good alternative to cookies and chips. Instead, when I want sweet, I grab a Graham Cracker (only 3 gms of fat per serving that's described as '2 full cracker sheets') and if I want salty I'll have some Triscuts (or other crackers). Hopefully, the diet changes will help, and I talked my kids into doing aerobics with me in the morning, should be fun!

Something else that keeps me on track is the 100 calorie Nabisco packets b/c it monitors you and keeps you eating only that much. There's a lot in there too.I also buy the mini Crystal Lite packets and put them in my 32 oz. water bottle & so I drink water all day (otherwise there's no way I'd drink all that water).

Re: Anybody want to start an '06 weight loss support group?
Count me in. I've being doing WW for 10 weeks and have lost 14lbs. I've been eating LOTS of fruits and veggies and hitting the gym 4-5 times a week.I've always been sorta scared to try spinning, but i took my first class last night and LOVED it. i did a calorie burn estimator, and based on my weight, I burned over 600 calories in 45 minutes!

I totally agree! I bought the Crystal light too! I think I'm gonna throw the water bottles in the freezer....
They say that about frozen dinners as well, that it keeps your portions controlled and you actually end up eating less than if you made something yourself.
My original thought was to do this:
Breakfast: a slimfast shake (not a big breakfast person)
Lunch: a frozen meal, healthy choice, ww, or lean cuisine
Dinner: whatever I make for the family (trying to cook healthier for my kids too!)
Putting that off for the weekend, seeing as it's Easter. Not that I'll gorge myself on candy, but I don't want to limit myself otherwise and put a damper on everyone else's holiday!

Yeah I think my problem is going to be keeping active, I'm such a couch potato! But now that it's getting warmer I can take the kids outside.BTW the new issue of Glamour ha a great section with loads of exercises - all targeting one body part. It's fantastic!
