Anybody's church say NO to writing their own vows???
I'm stumped. I know people do this all the time. I was so excited about this part, I started two months ago. Now the Deacon tells us that it's against the rules???? We can add a sentence or two to the end of the vows that you pick in the Together for Life book...whoopty doo.
Just wanted to know if this had happened to anyone?

as far as i know if you are getting married in the church you have to say the vows that are the standard part of the ceremony. . .sorry. . .
i could be wrong. . . maybe you can call up some other churches to get an idea?

Ya know....I never knew this, but I'm not suprised. I want to be married by a Deacon, but not in a church. I dont even know if they will do that. Maybe you should write private vows to eachother that only the two of you will see. This way, the things you wanted to say are written in ink forever.

our deacon gave us the same line.. i was kinda PO'ed but he also told us we couldn't do alot of other things...
