My friend switched from Ortho Tri to Yasmin and said the only drawback was that the Yasmin didn't clear her face up like the Ortho (which isn't surprising since that is what Ortho is known for).

what magical powers???

The side effects are the same as Ortho, according to the packaging.

It's a static amount of hormones being released into your body, as a opposed to a variable amount like in Ortho and Ortho-Lo. So it's supposed to have a lower instance of mood swings and won't diminish the sex drive.

I know! But for the last few months, even on Ortho Lo, all around my jaw and on my neck has been breaking out! And I've been very moody and my cycle has been off, so when I mentioned all of that to my Dr. he was all 'do, I have a pill for you!'

He even suggested the possibilty of balanced hormones helping my crappy skin. I'm hoping!

See, my cycle has started being off too and he wants to switch me. I am just so hesitant, fearful that I will have eruptions on my face if I stop! And I don't remember gaining weight when I went on ortho, but maybe I would lose some if I went off?! Worth a shot!

If you can hold out for 2 months I'll let you know how it goes!

me too! I would just cry at the drop of a hat - poor FH! And I was never in the mood - which kind of defeated the point! I got so sick of it that I just stopped taking BC all together (although I want to go back on a different kind soon )!
