I have been stalked by someone going through and reading all of my old posts on LIW (from approximately 8 months ago), and it left me feeling soooo violated. The person confronted me about the information and never revealed its source.
Everyone should keep in mind, that although we are all part of a community, that this stuff is all posted on the Internet for the WORLD to read.
In the past I have let myself forget that and I shouldn't have.

Yeah, it's happened to a lot of girls on here. I gave my username on here to my DH's friend's fiancee, with the stipulation that she not mention any of what she might read to my ILs. Not that there's a huge chance that she'd do it, but still.

I've actually heard that there are people who find your vendors and try to cancel your contracts. I'm not sure I believe this, but all the same, I haven't really posted any of my vendors in my profile.
People can be really strange, and werid!

This happened to me. Someone read something I wrote and told their significant other. Their significant other then told my Fiance what I wrote. My Fiance never told me who it was. I felt soooo violated. Especially since I looked to get advice from other brides on a situation. It's sad!

You never know who the hell is on here And I actually removed my LI Weddings wedding website because when I was searching for one of my vendors...My site came up in a web search and it scared me

Some people really need to get a life! I'm sorry that this happened to you, I would be so angry if somebody did that to me. But thanks for giving the ladies like me, a heads up that stuff like this happens.

This is also why I deleted my vendors from my profile...I didn't want that readily available to everyone..its very sad but people are sick

So it is possible to check what posts a certain person has written. People are just crazy and have no lives of there own. That person is clearly jealous of your life. Sorry it had to happen to you.

It is important to remember that everyone and anyone can read your posts.... this includes those who you are friends with, others who are trying to sabotage your wedding, and even your vendors! While I used to use this site for everything - information, advice, etc... - I have found that certain people search for screen names and read through everything you write. It is unfortunate that some people feel that they need to intrude on our wedding planning.
exactly, that's why, while I do appreciate the advice I receive on this board(b/c it is sooo helpful), I really don't get to personal while chatting, b/c of people like that, and it's not fair, but it is, what it is

I'm so sorry that happened to you!! it really is terrible!!! i'm going to take the advice on this board and be careful what i write --- on a side note i worked at fortunoffs in customer service and we did have some women call and try to pretend to be brides and try to erase registries and say the wedding was canceled!! its unfortunate but true!! I know i should erase the personal info in my profile - but i'm so proud of everything - i'll have to think about it.
i have had vendors tell me they've read my posts, but fortunately no stalkers.
