Anyone been stalked on LIW?

I have been stalked by someone going through and reading all of my old posts on LIW (from approximately 8 months ago), and it left me feeling soooo violated. The person confronted me about the information and never revealed its source.

Everyone should keep in mind, that although we are all part of a community, that this stuff is all posted on the Internet for the WORLD to read.

In the past I have let myself forget that and I shouldn't have.

Was this someone you know or a random stranger? That is awful...and yes, it is the internet and everyone should realize that their posts aren't for 'LIW eyes only'. I am sorry that someone went as far as reading your posts from 8 months ago - that's extreme and scary!

I worry about that sometimes. But, honestly, the situations that I discuss have gotten to such a bad level that it would probably be a GOOD thing for someone to confront me about it. Then we could finally open up a dialogue. (yes, I am referring to the BM from hell )

It was someone I knew but no longer keep in touch with...

Ugh...the fact that they found you is nuts!

Prior to my wedding I had no info on my profile...you just never know. Reading other websites you become aware of the fact that this site is watched and commented on elsewhere. Plus one has to be careful with giving out personal info anyway...you just never know.

Yeah, I post all my bussiness all over this site. I've thought about going back and erasing a lot of what I've said.... I really should do that!! Especially stuff about FMIL and FSIL!

Just find the post yoou want to erase (or do a search of your name) and hit edit on the post and erase that bad boy! If this is unclear FM me... go ahead try it w/ this post!!

in a nutshell...yes i have. i even switched my name and erased all my vendors, but then i put them back a few weeks ago because i'm not going to let them irritate me.

I am sorry, I am confused, I always read past posts though..... like to see dresses and cp and bks and stuff.... especially if it is someone I heard of having a nice wedding...... so is it really bad to read someones past posts?

no, have never been stalked...has this person been harassing you with fm's and such? if so, tell ron and for now, block that name from your fm box.

From what she wrote,,it seems that the person isnt a LIW memeber..You dont have to be a member on LIW to read through posts.....

No, the person is NOT a LIW member and is not even engaged! A mutual friend mentioned LIW to her and she figured out who I was. I had posted about our strained relationship and she confronted me about it and refused to tell me who told her how I was feeling! Then I put 2 and 2 together and realized she read all of my really OLD posts on LIW.

YES, that is why I will no longer put pics of our wedding without blockin out the faces AND I had to go back and delete threads, pictures and my vendors!!! - most of them- there are sick people out there!!!

oh, wow, i didn't understand tha situation, but now i do. That really sux. Did you reply to the stalker? Can you block them from reading anything else you write? I think you really should be able to do that. Block people who aren't signed up from reading posts I mean.

The only board that's blocked unless you sign up is 'Off-Topic'...but even still, many people can sign up and never post...just lurk. There are just too many weirdoes.
