Anyone been to a wedding w/o bridal party
My FH and I are planning not to have a briday party, mainly to keep things simple and cut down costs. However, we booked the Watermill, and will be having the ceremony there, and now, I'm worried that the ceremony will be boring, or less exciting w/o a bridal party?

Colartie, that sounds nice.... Did you get married in the chapel or outside? Did the best man and MOH walk together after the flower girl, or by themselves?

Hi Nina I dont think your ceremony will be any less exciting. You do need two official witnesses to sign your marriage certificate. So you may want to have the chosen two participate as bridal party members offering toasts etc. BTW our reception was at Watermill this past September and everything was perfect. I keep telling my DH that we have to get back there for dinner - the food is so good.

We are only having a matron of honor and the best man and flower girls. I wanted to avoid the 'why did you ask her and not me issue' with asking friends to be bridesmaids as well as to keep costs down. Should you decide not to have anyone, I dont think their is anything wrong with that....Just more attention FOR YOU!

No bridal party
We didn't have a bridal party - saved huge on flowers ($250 for my flowers, 2 mom cors, 1 grandma. & 3 bouteniers for groom & dads). We had our parents as our witnesses, which was different and saved a lot of headaches. The ceremony was short and simple. And we had a 1 1/2 cocktail hour. Go for it.

My friend just got married in September and she had a MOH (me) and a best man. She also had a 2 readers. It was very simple and elegant. I don't think it was boring at all. It was less stress on her. We bought my dress at lord and taylor-very hassle free!Welcome New Vendors
