Anyone been to Barbados?

I was actually born there so I am biased lol.

It really is pretty and I find myself comparing other places that I have visited to it and its up there as a great vavation spot. The people are friendly and I have not heard any negative reviews from those I recommended the island to.

Barbados is great!! FI and I planned a trip there last summer. Well, planned was the wrong word. Two nights before we left, we decided that we wanted to go away. We called Air Jamaica Vacations and they said they had flights to two islands available. One was Barbados. Neither of us knew anything about Barbados.

The trip turned out to be great! The food on the island is amazing...every meal was delicious. In fact, my FI at the time was a strict vegetarian (no fish or anything) for 11 years. Well, he turned to a carnivore on that trip and has not stopped eating meat.

The best part about the island is that it is a rich island...not poor like DR or PR. So the restaurants are good and stuff. The food is really expensive because there is an extra tax on the food. But I would not hesitate recommending it.

I went about 7 years ago, and it was beautiful!!! FI and I were thinking of possibly going there for a couple of days on our honeymoon... I do remember one thing.. A newlywed couple were on there honeymoon, and the bride lost her in the water!!!! But they were able to find it because the water is so crystal clear!!!
