My sister went there once, but i think she was on an uninhabited island just off the coast, although she did visist the mainland when arriving and departing. It was on some sort of a biology field trip. She loved it and from her pics it is beautiful!! She went about 2 years ago and at that time, I think tourism on the mainland was just starting to pick up. That is what the country relies on for $. She said the people there were so nice and friendly.

Liz-If you give me your bond I can go to Belize if not I think I am going to look elsewhere and compare. Belize is lots of $$$$$$, LOL!!!!!!!

You know I will say go to BRAZIL in a heart beat. I think there is an island off of Brazil that is supposed to be a party scene. Not sure if you would want to go there.

What is the price difference between Brazil and Belize?

I would love a party island. FI and I are not the 'sit on a beach all day' kind of couple.

The price difference varies depending on what we want. I am soooo confused it's ridiculous!!!!! I'm still researching and have to make a decision soon. FI is a 'lets' go wherever you want' guy and EVERYTHING is O.K w/ him. How frustrating

My FH has been to Brazil. His mother used to go there all the time (she's a flight attendant). I can ask FH to post what he remembers if you would like, but I don't think he'll remember much. Poor guy has been to so many places that he gets them confused (I wish I had that problem!!! ).

Hey Curly, he didn't remember too much. This may not be very helpful. He said he liked visiting the mountain with the statue on it (I think it's a religious statue, which is funny for FH to like it b/c he isn't very religious!) and he loved the beach (though he almost drowned there and had to be rescued!). Other than that he didn't remember too much about what he did. He remember that at the hotel he stayed at there were a lot of wandering cats that got intimate with each other at night (ha!). I told you he might not be of much help to you!!! Hehehe. If you do go I can always ask my FMIL for good details b/c she used to go there almost weekly. She'd give you an itinerary!
