Anyone been to Macy's in Manhaset or Bridal Couture in Manhasset for Gowns?
My mom just called. She made up appointments to go try on gowns at both places next week!
Anyone been there? Anything good / bad to say about them?

I was pretty unhappy with the service at Macy's and I wrote a post about it but I can't find it so I think it was taken down. Personally I would not go there again. I will say my seamstress was very nice, though.

We went to Bridal couture for my sisters wedding and I would not recommend them.
I used Macys and some of the girls were snotty and sometimes we waited. But honestly it was easier to go to macys to get all my girls dresses here. THe dresses came fast and were altered quikcly and no hassles. I was a little more specific in my review...
Oh ETA that I didnt get my gown there and wouldnt recommend it for a bridal gown. BM dresses - yes.

It's our first trip to look -- so what about selection? We're not buying anything tomorrow.
Also, if t here are any specific complaints, feel free to FM me!

Oh yeah if you want to look, then I would go to Macys Manhasset. They have a reputation of being disorganized and rude you wont want that hassle when going for fitting etc.. The seamstresses are really nice. Also they have mostly Demetrios Gowns but a nice selection.
Bridal couture from our experience was snooty. And my all our BM dresses were cut 2 sizes smaller and they were rude saying that all my sisters BM gained weight. That it was our fault.
They messed up my sisters dress and she had to change the style a little becuase 2 days before the wedding they couldnt fixed it the way they said they would.
However they have a nice selection of dresses for looking.

I got my dress at Macy's in Manhasset and so far I have no complaints what so ever. In fact, I am very happy with the way they have been treating me & my BM's.
I recommend them 100%

I got my dress at Macy's Manhasset...I have to say that at first they were really nice, but it seemed to change once my gown was ordered and it was time for fittings... make sure to write down what the cap is on alterations and don't get suckered into the whole 'we're having a sale on our headpieces' thing...they were pushy with that i thought..also, i think it helps when you know what type of dress you are looking for...

Yes...that was a really nice salon and they were really patient..I went twice but still didn't find the type of dress I wanted so I went to Macy's Manhasset for the Demetrios Gown I wore

When you go to Bridal Couture hopefully they won't assign you Kiki. She is a bit annoying and pushy.
Good luck!

Im not sure if NYC is out of reach for you, but if you decide you want to do use Macy*s to order your dress, I highly recommend Macy*s in Herald Square (34th street). I got my dress here (also in my review..LOL sounds like a plug)

It's not, I work in midtown west. My mom actually said we should go there after we look around on Long Island. I'm just off next week, so we figured we'd go on a weekday when there are hopefully fewer people around!!

Re: Anyone been to Macy's in Manhaset or Bridal Couture in Manhasset for Gowns?
I made an appointment for a gown, but it was like an hour and a half time slot, so my friend and I said we wanted to look at some BM dresses then look at gowns. We saved 30 minutes to try on 3 gowns and the woman seemed really annoyed. She said they were closing in 15 min, so I questioned it bc they were open another half hour, she was a little snippy and said, 'yes well, I can't spend the whole 30 min with you'. She should have told me that at the beginning and not give me a 'tude.
I went with a friend to the Bridal Salon of Manhasset, amazing store, the woman was very helpful and even threw in some extra alterations at no cost for my friend!

Re: Anyone been to Macy's in Manhaset or Bridal Couture in Manhasset for Gowns?
I got mine at Macy's and so far it's ok. The woman I saw was a bit pushy with the veils. I was told I would get a discount on them but what I wanted was $200 for a 2 tier white veil nothing fancy. I got my veil for $40 at floralfantasyland. I'm also having a problem with they sending the gown to Smithhaven mall. No one ever said I had to pay the balance before they would send it. I was told it was just $25. When I asked they made me feel dumb. Hopefully the fittings go better.

Re: Anyone been to Macy's in Manhaset or Bridal Couture in Manhasset for Gowns?
ive been to macys in manhasset- wasnt all that impressed with what they had
i also went to saks in manhattan, amsale in manhattan and bridal reflections
i wound up buying my dress at bridal reflections. im really happy with the dress, and the salespeople. i have to say that my first fitting experience was not good (pull up my post), but since then its been fine...
also, dont fall for their headpiece show thing either- stupid tiara cost almost 600 bucks. is there an emoticon for Vomit?? i guess this will have to do:
maybe you guys will see mine on ebay in a few weeks ;)
