Anyone been to Marina del ray in THE BRONX??

Any info would be good - how it looks, food, etc.. planning an anniversary party for FIL's and this place was suggested by a few people! thanks!!

Marina Ddel Ray is in the Bronx.

that was the very first place we looked at when booking our hall.
we had gone to a wedding there and it was outstanding. truly.
second only to russo's.

I went to a wedding there in June 2002. It was very nice!
It was a beautiful day, and the cocktail hour was outside, so you had a great view of the throgs neck and whitestone bridges and the water.
The food was excellent and I remember being surpised with how many choices there were for dinner - I think that they had 7!

I went to a wedding there in October. The decor is not my taste so I won't comment on that.

But the food was awesome. The dinner was out of this world and a ton of choices. The venetian (sp?) hour was spectacular. I loved the freshly dipped strawberries in chocolate.

The cocktail hour food was good as well but they didn't replenish many of the platters so quite a few were left empty and all the tables were set up like a reception room so to me it didn't give the appearance you were suppose to mingle so most people sat down the whole time and didn't move. I just prefer mingling cocktail hours.

Overall the wedding was very good and I wouldn't hesitate to hold a party there.

I haven't been to Marina Del Ray in a few years, but they do a fantastic job.. they have a great reputation, and the food is outstanding (so is the view!)

Growing up in Westchester/Bronx border, Marina Del Ray was one of THE most POPULAR PLACES to get married .. half the girls I graduated HS with had their receptions there.. it is a nice place, you shouldn't have any problems planning a nice party there.

It's amazing there....FYI: They are closing down and redoing the whole look of the place starting january 2005. My brother and his fiance are booking their wedding there for july 2005 and this is what they were told.
