Re: Anyone been to New Orleans
We are doing the last five days of our HM there-- we are staying at the Windsor Court hotel-- it is supposed to be one of the best hotels in the country.. We're looking forward to it!

Re: Anyone been to New Orleans
I was there last year--my FAVORITE place to go!!!!!! Make sure you visit all the towny spots, not just the touristy places. OMG, it's just so much fun--the whole place. I can't remember the place we stayed at, nor would I definitely recommend it--it was ok, but just ok. I would definitely recommend, though, that you stay on the other side of Canal Street from the French Quarter. You will literally be accross the street and the prices drop considerably. It's a really small area--everything is in walking distance (unless you wanna go visit a plantation), so you don't need to stay 'in' the FQ. Good luck and have a blast!

Re: Anyone been to New Orleans
Some of my family lives near by in Mississippi. Whenever we visit, we spend a few days in New Orleans. A great place to stay is the Iberville Suites. It is connected to the Ritz Carlton there, but is much more reasonable. You get the privileges that guests of the Ritz get also. I highly recommend!

we stayed at the International House- sort of like a W... Aveda ammenities, CD player in room, really nice bar in the lobby and great room service. JUST outside French Quarter, but within walking distance.

We always stay at the Omni Royal on St. Louis (not the Omni Royale Crescent). It's right in the quarter one or two blocks from Bourbon.

Re: Anyone been to New Orleans
We went during September and unfortunately Hurricane Ivan followed us. We were stuck in the hotel for 3 days straight. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton on Canal Street and it was gorgeous. The staff was wonderful and really did all they could to make us feel comfortable during the hurricane. If we go back I would love to stay there again. We also saw the hotel Monteleone and that looks like a beautiful hotel also. Have fun!

Re: Anyone been to New Orleans
We stayed at the ambassador. It was inexpensive and clean. Nothing to rave about but the location was right off canal st (few blocks from the quarter) right near the streetcars.
