Anyone been to Puerto Rico?

My FH and I have some frequent flyer tix to use up so we're thinking of Puerto Rico in May for 3 nights.

Right now we're looking at the Westin Rio Mar and the San Juan Marriott. The first isn't near anything - which could be nice. The second is in the city - which would be very convenient.

Suggestions???

I went to a wedding there in May 2001....My cousin got married at San Juan Marriot.....It was beautiful....I would go again in a heartbeat!!!

i actually didnt like san juan much. just a crowded city, though old san juan was really nice.

I liked vieques & culebra more.

Me and FH have been there a few times and love it! The Marriott is a great hotel to stay at - you won't be disappointed!!

Is the Marriott the same hotel as the Marriott Courtyard in San Juan?? Isn't that one right near the airport?
I was just there in March w/ a group of friends..we stayed at the Ritz with a friends work discount. Very nice little getaway.

I spent my summers there growing up and have visited family many times as an adult. The Marriot is a great pick. As far as sightseeing you should def. do the rainforest and shopping in old San Juan. if you want to see the coolest thing at night visit the BioIlluminescent Bay. It's breathtaking!!! Have a great time. FM me if you'd like more info.

I was mistaken....However, the Marriot that I stayed at when my cousin got married was called I believe San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino....It was beautiful as I said......

ive been there twice...i really like it there....check out the El San Juan in San Juan ....very nice! and the Intercontinental.....they are right next door to each other....

I have stayed at the El San Juan and I definitely recommend visiting!!! I would choose San Juan - I love Puerto Rico, I have been there about 5 times. You guys will have a great time!

i've been at the SJ marriott in november with FI...and LOVED it...right on the beach...great walking disntance to resatuarants and other hotels.....

but if you wanna spend lil more the westin...is the place to go! HTH!

i did not like PR at all, but that might be b/c we stayed in bad hote (el san juan towers) and it rained alot

I adore Puerto Rico. So beautiful and so much culture and history.
