anyone blocking rooms at Sheraton Hotel near Watermill?
I am working with them to block rooms but I want feedback. Were rooms nice? Did they give you a good deal? We plan on throwing a brunch the next day. Also, did you book shuttles or vans to transport guests to and from the hotel. Any info would help!

I asked this a few weeks ago and I can't seem to find it. I know a hotel does off a free shuttle if you book a certain number of rooms, BUT if you don't fill the rooms, you have to pay for them.

The Holiday Inn Express offers the free shuttle with booking of 10 rooms. The Sheraton is 5 min from the Watermill. I like it b/c they have a piano bar that is open until 2 am for my guests who still want to hang out. they also have a restaurant where we can host a brunch. the Holiday Inn Express doesnt have that. The only thing is is that the Sheraton does not provide the shuttle.

Yup, the Sheraton is across from Bennigan's in Smithtown. I have been considering booking there too..... I checked out the Holiday Inn Express and the Wyndham Windwatch. I loved the Wyndham, but I feel like it's going to be too pricey for my OOT guests! Can anyone FM with the quote they got from the Sheraton? How many rooms do you have to book? Thanks, Kelly

FYI...that hotel is more like 15 mins away, not 5. It is a nice hotel though

I know that the Wyndam is a bit pricey. If you are looking for a hotel to book for you and your future hubby, the will only take your reservation a month before your wedding date. I went this week to see the Courtyard Marriott and that was very nice. They have very nice suites and very nice rooms.

We booked at the Wyndham, but I sort of haggled with them also. I got prices from the other hotels in the area (of which the Marriot was the cheapest) and then called the Wyndham and asked it they would match. They did, and I booked there, first because it's closer and second cuz I like it better. We booked a shuttle bus through our limo company.

That Sheraton is not as close to the Watermill as other hotels. I live about a 1/4 mile from it (just down Washington Ave a bit) and my brother got married at the Watermill. It is at least 10-15 minutes away. Although FH made it from Watermill to my house and back to Watermill in 20 minutes when my bro's DJ didn't have the right version of the song my brother was to dance to with my mom (I was in the bridal party so I couldn't leave, but FH did that favor for my mom)
Anyway, try some of the places on the expressway that may be closer.

The Sheraton I am referring to is in Smithtown. It is 3.87 miles from the Watermill according to my handy dandy mapquest. It is off of the Vanderbilt Motor Parkway.

Yes I did wind up going with the Sheraton. They quoted me a price of $109 for my guests, $295 for my suite wich includes a bottle of champagne. As rooms get blocked off, the suite price is lowered. Tom from the Watermill who I am dealing with is trying to work with the guy to lower the price to $99 for the guests.
Still I think $109 is a good price. I loved the Wyndham. I think too $$ for my guests.
And the Sheraton has a piano lounge which I like for guests who want to hang out after the wedding. It also has a restaurant for our brunch the next day.
