Anyone booking a Day of Coordinator?? +/- thoughts
We decided we didn't want to do a full wedding planner, but we are thinking of having someone there to deal with everything day of. I guess you meet with them like mnth before and have them get in touch with all your vendors to make sure eveything runs smoothly at the reception. Anyone using one??

I am still thinking about it but honestly you can book one now. Even though they arent full wedding planners they can set you up with vendor suggestions and even get you discounts on services because they know the entire business inside and out!

That's why we didn't do the full wedding planner. I am too anal to give up that much control to someone else!! It would end up stressing me out more in the end

If I could afford it I would definitly do it. So if you can, I say go for it. I think it takes a lot of stress off of you and just makes things a little bit easier.

I'm using EAP they are a vendor on here, & Christine Viola (the owner & an '06 LIW Bride) is absolutly amazing!!! I see that we are date twins, (we're getting married on one of the most popular Sat. in 2008 ) Christine had several other DOC's that work for her too. I was lucky enough to win the Service at TWOTY, altho I was pricing them out before that & her prices are great for what your getting

i'm not but i'm only having 100 ppl so i don't feel it would be necessary. but if i were having a big wedding i definitely would. i have read articles in magazines and posts on here from so many brides who were SOOO happy that they hired a day of coordinator. they said their DOC was just as good on their wedding day, as someone who would have been with them through the entire process. i think it's a great idea.

This was my concern with hiring a planner, I didn't want one to try and take too much control. But they have partial planning, and I am thinking of doing that, to help with payments of vendor, this way the last few weeks they can handle all of that, go over things with all our vendors and make sure they are on top of everything...And if I NEED help with any suggestions about decor. Still thinking about this though, not sure. I don't know how I am gonna feel about this lol.
But I do want a DOC. The day of if problems arise I don't want to go crazy dealing with them. This way they handle it and they don't even tell you about it so this way you can be stress free. I also don't want to leave any family members or friends in charge of problems because I want them to enjoy the day too and not going crazy to make sure everything is going smoothly

I do plan on hiring a DOC. I already set up an appt with one. I wasn't going to get one but I was telling FH about it and everything they do and it was his idea to hire one and if he's paying who am I to say no?

I'm using a doc. Laura from La Productions. she's the best. she was so sweet. I also paid a little more to have her help with at least 1 vendor, and the rehearsal. since we have no idea what we're doing lol. def seems worth it to me.

If I could afford a planner I would do that! I love talking on this site but the novelty of wedding planning has worn off. I can't possibly imagine what dress shopping with my mom is going to be like. Coordinating BMs for shopping. And FH is jsut not into meeting vendors. He must think I actually like driving all over Long Island. I just want to wave my magic wand and poof be married.
