Anyone Celebrate St. Joseph's Day?

As an italian american i aways feel so neglected - where's our parade

I kid, I kid... but, I was curious if anyone else celebrated, what they did.

Growing up, we would just get italian pastries But being in VA now, I usually just spend the day explaining to people what it is

YES! pastries (which I hate) and the bread (which I love). And I was baptised on St. Joseph's day
ETA: We get the columbus day parade

True, but he sailed for spain, so that doesn't count

We never made the bread, as my mother rarely cooks. I considered trying to make it last year, but decided it was too complicated

My parents always celebrated when my grandfather was alive (his name was Giuseppe). Not so much now.

I think I may head downtown to Rocco's bakery after my interview tomorrow. I love their sfingi di San Giuseppe.

I agree. My great-grandmother passed away on St. Joseph's Day so every year I buy a St. Joseph's Day card and usually that weekend (which this year I will go on Sunday) I go to the cemetry and bring her the card.

We always had pastries...it's my brother's birthday and his name is Joseph as well.

Sadly, here in VA the only bakeries are at Walmart and the supermarket...

And rainbow cookies are sugar cookies with food coloring

Hmm, i'm so buying tons of pastries when I'm home

We didn't really 'celebrate' but we definitely did the pasteries in a BIG way (hey, we love our pasteries!)

I preferred my St. Josephs' pastery w/whipped cream, though most love the custard ...
