Anyone Celebrate St. Joseph's Day?

Original post by DebsNY

As an italian american i aways feel so neglected - where's our parade

I kid, I kid... but, I was curious if anyone else celebrated, what they did.

Growing up, we would just get italian pastries But being in VA now, I usually just spend the day explaining to people what it is

If by 'celebrating' you mean 'eating pastry' then YES! YES! YES!

Although, since moving to the land where 'fish pie' is considered culture...

PS: Custard for me!!!

OK, I had some last night from Fortunata's in brooklyn and can I tell you they suck-ed. They were soggy and the casada cream wasn't that good. Persoanlly I am a custard fan but I'll eat the casada cream once in a while ... such a disappointment last night because Fortunata is usually good.

One of my dad's cousin's made this special pasta for that day. I know how to say it I just don't know how to spell it out.

I'll try....it's called 'I sette petansi'....does it sound familiar to anyone?
